Friendly service. Delicious food. Fast and fresh.
Great waffles and funky-waffley themed spot. A diverse menu with many options to satisfy all waffle lovers. We ordered the Gouda herb stuffed waffle and the earth ? wind ? fire ? waffle (wheat with banana walnuts and honey + whip on side) they were delightfully delicious!!! I ordered a latte: I wanted to like it but it was tolerable. Will likely go for basic american coffee next visit.Self-order/self-serve style: You order at the counter and pick up once the buzzer goes off. Staff were friendly- did the basic customer service thing. We ate on a Saturday morning and it was not busy at all. We called on our way to check if it was busy, but no answer. Decent pricing and portions. Good quality ingredients. Street parking out front (2$/hr and lots across for 10$/day).The space is fun and big. Music and artsy themed decor with local art for sale and coolwaffle turn table merch. For a restaurant that sells social justice themed buttons and pins, I was hugely disappointed ?? at the inclusion of apartheid-state labeled food items on their menu (that are Originally and historically associated to Jerusalem/Palestinian heritage).Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Latte ⭐️Environment & Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Menu options ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Looked up on triple D when travelling. Was a great experience for the family. Kids had a great time. Gluten free options for the family as well. Chicken n waffle was great.
It was our first time visiting. And we were so excited to have our cheat lunch ?I found it a bit unique to be able to order waffles in half size instead of full size. And we loved the taste!Only one thing, I'd like to request the restaurant is to leave a towel or wet wipes on the table if it's possible. Because is was a busy lunch time and no one had time to clean up empty tables so the table was a little sticky. If we have a towel or wet wipes on the table, it would be nice. But We'll definitely come back again tho!
Great atmosphere! Good service! Okay food. My sisters and I got 2 orders of everyday people waffles, 1 order of vegan egg sandwich, and 1 Aunt Miriam’s waffle and 1 order of Strawberry banana smoothie as well as 1 order of strawberry banana mango smoothie. I also got a side of home fries. Overall, the waffles were pretty good but everything else was just okay.
While in the area, we have been trying several DDD locations. This was the third and my favorite. The Thanksgiving waffle was the best!!
If you're looking for the best little hole in the wall in Syracuse - this is it! They have live music, amazing waffle concoctions, all kinds of coffees and drinks... I couldn't love this place more! The service is amazing as well. We loved it so much we bought t-shirts and I'm proud to rep funk n' waffles when I wear mine!
Edit, Funk n Waffles percent tip is calculated off of the sum of the subtotal, credit card processing fee, and NY tax. It’s makes an overpriced meal ridiculously expensive by increasing the tip egregiously. We placed our order when the restaurant was nearly empty before 5:40pm and we still needed to wait 20 minutes for the fully staffed restaurant to assemble chicken and waffles. Even if you spend $35 for dinner, there is still a cover charge if you want to go the other part to get away from the draft. For the 5 tender whole chicken and waffle, the chicken breading was good and the house sauce had a nice vinegar edge, but the chicken was very dry and needed to sauce to not be completely disappointing. Where the chicken and waffles lacked moisture, the jive turkey waffle overshot with gravy sauce and was too goopy and salty. There wasn’t that much turkey, but what there was felt like turkey lunch meat rather than turkey. Under a thin layer of turkey, there’s was so much mashed potatoes that you almost lost the texture and flavor of the stuffing waffle. I came here because I read that it was featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives so I should have had lower expectations.
