Very disappointed. The curry gravy was watery as well as bland. I thought I was getting cabbage and got what tasted like Coleslaw which was probably a misunderstanding of my own. The plantains were hard like they were from the day before and someone tried to reheat them and they over cooked. BUT, everyone has their own tastebuds and although I didn't care for it doesn't mean that someone else will have the same feelings!
Staying at the Marriott across from Salt City Market, I asked the valet for a food recommendations that was close. I was recommended Erma’s Island and this restaurant did not disappoint! The food was very delicious - I was so eager to try everything that I ordered the curry goat, oxtails, and jerk chicken. They all were finger-licking. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good quality food in Syracuse. Not to mention the staff was extremely nice and hospitable. I plan to eat here again while I’m in town!
Best Jamaican food in Syracuse, hands down! I recommend the jerk chicken and the oxtails ??
Warm friendly owner and staff serving up delicious food topped with an orchid and a smile. The jerk chicken was well seasoned with a sauce that was yummy. Kudos to Erma's grandpickney!
The Rasta pasta is good but they NEVER HAVE IT!!!! I literally don’t understand how these restaurants in the Salt City Market never has food … it’s so weird! As high as the food is, all of the vendors should stay stocked up. It’s irritating and inconvenient. It’s 7:30 on a Friday night and y’all are sold out of food? At this point, just close down?
This restaurant is located in Salt City Market. Erma's is delectable and the chef/ owner is the nicest person ever!! We tried the Jerk Salmon, which is a must if this is your first time trying out Jamaican food (warning: jerk flavor definitely has a kick to it so be prepared!). Also, tried Braised oxtail in butter beans, which has more of a tangy flavor.Excited to taste the Curry chicken roti next time!
Amazing! The food was great… the service was outstanding
Just stopped in quick to grab some rasta pasta and jerk chicken to go and it was great!! Great atmosphere! ??
It's a NO for me. The Rasta pasta taste like Alfredo, && the curry chicken was wrapped in some kind of soggy taco shell. after reading the amazing reviews I thought I'd give it a shot but it's a miss taste like Syracuse at its finest.
Best Jamaican spot in Syracuse. The food is fresh, the people are nice, and the spot is very convenient. The oxtails are the bomb and they have the best jerk chicken I've ever had!
