I was in Solvay so I stopped in. I ordered the chicken dinner with Mac & cheese and also collard greens. The chicken was a little hard for my liking but ok. Just make sure you are changing the grease. The Mac was bland and the collard was good. I will give them another try in the future but if it don’t get better I will not go back. I understand that prices went up but don’t go cheap on your good ingredients or seasoning.
Hands down the best soul food I've had in Syracuse. Oxtails, rice and gravy that fall off the bone and so flavorful. I'm gonna make some people mad when i say best collard greens ever - not bitter at all and just the right amount of heat. Macaroni and cheese like your Gramma made -maybe even better. The fried fish and shrimp put everyone else to shame (and i know 'Cuse is a fried fish town). The batter is seasoned perfectly, great texture, and so crispy. The shrimp were thick and meaty. The haddock cooked to perfection. All ya'll other fish places should be scared! And the grits were hot and buttery and the perfect complement to the fish. This would be my death row meal! Phenomenal.Edit 6/30/22: We called tonight for dinner as they were closing. We had a huge order so I apologized and said we would try again tomorrow. THEY STAYED OPEN and made us a ton of food and did it so graciously. Wow. Who does that anymore?! This place is AMAZING!♥️
I had the ribs with cabbage and collard greens, excellent. The rest of my party loved the food too.
I got to say this is the best place to eat in Syracuse, I'm from FL I'll be in Syracuse for a month and I try it every single restaurant in the area the I'm staying and the food was not good at all until I find this place I love it!!! I called and spoke to a woman who was friendly and professional to ask what was available to order online.The food was Delicious and I'm from NYC.Wings and yams and mac &cheeseSeasoned perfect and good portions.Baked chicken,mac salad was good I have been trying to find Soul food that is consistant and I found it.Good Job!!!
So I heard the hype behind the food here, but it didn't measure up to how good the food here actually is. Touch of soul is a understatement and they 100% have a customer for life with me.
Ordered the steak and pepper with Mac and cheese, cabbage, along with the wing meal. All was good. Reasonably priced and nice portions. Fat and happy!
We had chicken sandwiches which were dry and served on a fresh bun with absolutely NOTHING on them. No mayo, no pickles, nothing. And they don't have coleslaw. Not soulful.
I had alot of soul food from places in town that I was not impressed by but Baby everything was delicious the ribs the macaroni and cheese strawberry crunch oh let me not forget my dirty rice everything was on point down to the seasoning. yes this is my first time going and I will be back.
Food is fresh and flavor is very good ??. The serving portion is very nice and the service is very good!!
