They did a nice job for my son’s confirmation party

The overall atmosphere was a subtle charm that was very relaxed. David, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Although he was busy with a large party, he still ensured we received proper attention. Too often, I've been to places that don't handle large groups and as a result the individual tables get forgotten about...not today. Yency, the busboy was non-stop all throughout the meal and I had to personally let him know my appreciation. The meal began with Fried Calamari which usually comes with Marinara sauce. David brought over a Buffalo Sauce as well a Sweet Asian Sauce for us to try. All 3, along with the Calamari was delicious.Main entrees included Salmon Farfalle, Penne Vodka and Pork Osso Bucco with spinach and butternut squash risotto. Farfalle was delicious. The Penne Vodka was tasty. The Pork Osso Bucco was very tender but it needed some more flavor. The risotto didnt mix well with Butternut Squash, could've just been Risotto. The Spinach should've been a side and not on top of the risotto.Dessert was Cappuccinos with a Brownie Sundae which both were very good. We also ordered the Tiramisu which is definitely a must.I will gladly return based upon this experience...

In the past I’ve had great experiences here. But unfortunately today they dropped the ball on Mother’s Day. Very unpleasant experience, many menu items missing. Waited 2 hours for our entrees to come out and in the end my medium-ordered steak was well done. Restaurant could not support the number of patrons it served today. As I mentioned to the manager? they should not have accepted our reservation if it would lead to such a poor experience.

I had high expectations of this place since I pass by all the time and wanting to try their food.So for starters, you can tell that the Rock shrimp ? and calamari were frozen food and both were so tiny.Rock shrimp wasn’t even “rock” shrimp.Calamari were so dry :(Also, the reason I wanted to try this place is because they have fried avocado which was breaded, weren’t crispy some of the avocado were brown which was old :(.The only thing I liked about this place was the baked clam and skirt steak it has Lots of veggies and skirt steak were tasty and the rice that came with it were good too.We were seated in the dark room :/Maybe more like a private room of theirs?they were doing some things for a bit right behind where we were seated and while eating which I didn’t like cuz of the dusts that might get into our food :(The service were okay.I’ve given a nasty look by the host maybe because of my ethnicity.

Ordered take out. Butternut squash soup was absolutely terrible! Their chef seriously needs to watch some YouTube videos on how to properly cook it. It was very watery and sweet as if it is a dessert.

When you eat here it’s clear that the chief, staff and owners work assiduously to serve you delicious cuisine. After reading reviews, I’m thinking there are some charlatan’s writing. Portobello cafe, i aver is excellent. The fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and sun-dried tomatoes is out of this world and there are stuffed artichokes depending on the season or artfully made. As an epicurean, I eat out often enough to say “Bellissimo”………..additionally just to answer some of these reviews that are ridiculous. Business owners shouldn’t have to eat 4% transaction merchants fee’s for patrons using credit cards so if you don’t like paying a credit card fee use cash. Secondary this is not a pizzeria so if you have to wait 30 minutes/ an hour for your food it’s because it’s being prepared fresh. I highly doubt it would take an hour to get your food in the middle of an afternoon when the restaurant is not busy. However on a Friday night you might find wait times to be more. As for not taking credit cards over the phone, with all the stolen identity and credit cards do you really expect someone to take a phone credit card? Any type of connoisseur or eat out often enough you would know that this is the case maybe you should just go to the Olive Garden, LOL because that’s better suited for more than half of the bad reviews I’ve readMonica is cold johnathon is hot… how does an owner know exactly what temperature to put things on you have two bad reviews here based off of being warm and cold which is just ridiculous.. also a tank top is inappropriate for a white cloth restaurant maybe even the Olive Garden would be too polished for you you might wanna think about McDonald’s I think they were people in the tank tops there

Editing my rating - Ordered dinner for four off the St. Patrick menu Portobello had and it was disappointing to say the least. Dinner for four was $74.95 but it barely was enough for two people. Very disappointed. This is the first time I can honestly say we were disappointed with an order from Portobello. We'll know better next time than to order in from Portobello for anything.

Went recently to celebrate my wife's birthday. We've been there several times in the past. The food is always great. Their chicken franchise is her favorite. Always a good time there.

Fantastic lunch specials that change everyday and a great dinner menu ,prices are beyond fair and the food is outstanding .

Ordered the lunch special from Portobello Cafe. Plenty of food and less than $20 total. One is Eggplant parmigiana and the other is chicken with garlic white sauce, spinach and rigatoni. Salad with house dressing and Italian bread. Ordering was easy, and on time. Would definitely order again and I like how they change the special 8.95 lunch menu daily. Great local bargain.
