I have been a loyal customer of Cake Chef's Piece-A-Cake since it has opened and I have experienced this place's amenities for the past 10 years. The food is impeccable and the menu is so diverse. When you're there, you can always choose something different. I love the Greek Salad, the Ciabatta Paninis, and all of their pastries. Additionally, the staff is so nice, professional and accommodating. The staff cares a great deal about this wonderful place and they love what they do which is why I am proud to support this business.
Just go and see for yourself how amazing this place is! So much variety and everything is absolutely delicious! From the bakery up front to the cooked food coming from the back and let’s not forget the cookies in the adjoining store there is something for everyone! I absolutely love the decor! All the little unique signs and things like the old ferry door are such an awesome touch!
Piece-a-cake is one of the best bakeries around SI. They specifically make phenomenal cookies tarts and pastries. Their cakes are ok as well but not as great as the cookies, tarts and pastries are. My suggestion is the cookie trays. There’s nothing I don’t like on them. The variety is excellent and the cookies are fresh.
The banana cream donut is the best donut I’ve ever had. The place is beautiful and unique, and the people are always nice. There is a huge selection of delicious baked items, and a full breakfast and lunch menu. Something for everyone.
On the whole, Piece of Cake is a really good bakery. Many fabulous items, unbelievable variety and assortment. Their donuts, danishes, scones, croissants are delectable….That being said, however, on a recent visit, among other selections, we ordered our favorite “strawberry shortcake.” They have always been known for their particularly delicious version of this cake and we looked forward to enjoying it. To our dismay, something was different. The cake and filling were just perfect. Fresh, sweet, but not overly, …it was the whipped cream. It tasted wrong. It wasn’t spoiled or anything, but it wasn’t 100% real whipped cream. It had a shaving cream consistency and seemed to stick to the roofs of our mouths, coating them. Definitely not like it used to be. We have come to love that real fresh whipped cream on this cake, not some other blend of whatever!Please Go back to your original recipe. I know costs have increased but we would gladly pay more for your delectable shortcake!
