Really nice to eat enjoy the time
Very surprised by what we encountered when dining at Lava for the first time. Service was extremely slow - friend and I ordered the same two drinks, they brought out one and had me wait about 10 minutes for the other. It got to the point when Iâd have to leave the table to go to the bar and get a drink. I donât mind it at all, believe me - but when youâre getting charged top dollar, service needs to be on par. We were served water once we sat down and about two hours later after we finished our meals. Food was also extremely slow to come out. They charge mid to top tier steakhouse prices for steak that does not live up to the hype. Four people, over $500 bill - I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the music⦠But thatâs where it ends. The prices and slow service doesnât do Lava any good. I wish this establishment the best, but maybe management needs a wake up call.

I went to Lava Staten Island yesterday to celebrate Father's Day. It was our first time there and it won't be our last. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Tony (who was an absolute pleasure) made sure our table was catered to from our entrance to our departure. The food was superb. For appetizers we shared chicken & beef empanadas and delectable octopus. I had the beef short ribs with sweet mashed potatoes, my partner had the skirt steak, others enjoyed salmon & mussels and veal. I forgot to take pictures because the food looked and tasted too good to not dig into immediately. We were treated to a couple of desserts and cappuccinos. I asked to meet one of the owners who was on the premises, his name is Mario. I had to tell him what a great job him and his team are doing. Mario was very appreciative and gave us limoncello to try - which definitely ended the night with a great send off. I will definitely be back! I did manage to get one picture , which is of the veal. The portion was so huge they used a large cutting board to fit it. 5 stars!!!!

Went for dinner with friends. Sat outside on the patio which was very nice and private. Food was very good. I recommend the Lava Tini for your cocktail!
