Absolutely the best Italian food on Long Island!!!!!
I just returned from a Family gathering of 8 (including a 3 year old and a 1 year old) at Sal's. The service was friendly and very accommodating. Standout appetizers were calamari, stuffed zucchini blossoms and chicken wings. I had an excellently prepared rib eye with a brown mushroom sauce and topped with gorgonzola. My asparagus side dish with very thinly sliced garlic was tender and flavorful. Everyone left happy and full and most of us had food to take home, as the portions are generous.
Went as a last minute choice on a Saturday night. We had no reservations, but they seated right away. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We shared a white pizza, they are famous for it. We followed that with a shared mesclun salad with cranberries, walnuts and gorgonzola. It was excellent.My wife had Rigatoni alla Vodka with grilled chicken. I had the Cavitelli Spezzatino di Vitello. Pasta with veal, mushrooms, and peas in a brown sauce. I loved it. A chocolate velvet cake with espresso was a great finish.I would highly recommend Sals if you're in the Commack , Smithtown area.Cheers.

A cook to order Italian restaurant that has amazing food and the friendliest service you will ever find. Their prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food they provide. They treat you like family and are a caring family run business. They always make sure you love what you ordered too. Add this restaurant to your list of regular Italian places to eat.
Visited Sal's for a midweek family luncheon. Nice antipastos to share, including zucchini and sausage, calamari, and a platter. Several choices for entree including salmon, chicken, pork, and pasta. The Mason Jar Bloody Marys were an interesting presentation (mine with an orange garnish; my wife's with lemon), but they tasted great.
Very nice find...friendly servers, pleasant atmosphere, fantastic food...everyone we saw there was having a great time...family owned and proud of it...we will be back...
Celebrated a birthday here. The bartender was so great getting me a quick drink during set up. And the staff very friendly. I have to say WOW the food was good. Great traditional italian. Definitely going back
I love everything about this place including the workers! The workers are awesome because one time for my 29th birthday they sang happy birthday to me. ?????
