Stopped in here for a quick lunch. It was the first spot we saw with seating that was open. We were pleasantly surprised! Food was very good. Our server John was friendly and attentive and had no problem with our extra requests for our little one. A great choice.
My husband, my pups and I had a lovely time today visiting. We had a wonderful server named Kyle. I have had food from here previously through Grubhub, but this was my first dining experience. We were at the Schenectady Greenmarket and decided to stop by since we saw some available outdoor tables. The service was very fast considering how busy they were.
First time visiting and can’t wait to go back! Picked it for their gluten free options for my daughter. We weren’t disappointed. We both had savory crepes (hers gf) and both amazing! I brought home the triple berry scone and it’s the best scone I ever had. Also excellent service by our server John! Friendly, informative and attentive. It’s my new favorite place!
Super cute place! Great service, our waitress Cristina was very accommodating and friendly. The food was so delicious and they had many options including gluten free and vegetarian/vegan. They do offer some alcoholic beverages along with many tea options. Their desserts were scrumptious. Definitely recommend for lunch with friends/family. Has both indoor and outdoor seating.
Great food. Very crowded before the show at proctors. Go early
The food was good and the service was great! The crepes were good specially the berries abs cream and lemon cream burst! I would definitely go again!
Not exactly a traditional tea. Crepes, sandwiches and savory scones are available. Lobster bisque, sweet scones and desserts are featured. All of these are what I would describe as standard serving sizes. You may choose from these standard sizes for afternoon tea. They do not have cucumber nor smoked salmon sandwiches. My son and i had the tarragon chicken mushroom crepes-I would have browned the mushrooms. Tarragon flavor was not to be found. The curry chicken sandwich was our favorite of the savory selections.
A great find on Jay Street! Looking for something to eat before a recent trip to the theater, my wife and I walked in when we saw the tea kettle out front. With a combo of inside and outdoor seating, we were met promptly and with a smile. Our waitress Cayla took the time to explain the menu as it was our first visit ... we took her suggestions and enjoyed a great lunch. Plus, mimosas flight ?!? Delicious, fresh sandwich, the roasted red pepper soup was super, and the lemon drop scone might be the best we have ever had! Stop in, you won't be disappointed!
Delicious food! Beautiful place inside and out. Staff is always super friendly and the tea is incredible! John was our server at our last visit and he was so bubbly, kind, and truly a hall of sunshine! He went out of his way to help us, other customers, and even just some people walking Jay Street. The staff always makes the experience wherever I go. John truly knows how to make someone smile! Thank you!
Jay Street in downtown Schenectady is the best part of the downtown with loads of nice shops and restaurants. If you're a fan of tea - you need to stop into Whistling Kettle. So many teas and choices! I appreciated the wall with all the flavors and the descriptions. My dining partner and I ordered a couple items to take away. Warning - and they do have signs up about this - the staff is very short staffed and it took forever to get our items. I think over 40 minutes. We ended up leaving and going to a few stores and it still wasn't ready. We ended up getting a chicken and bean soup. This was just okay. The real star was the piece of broccoli cheese quiche. Yum! There was a band of thick cheese running through it that tasted amazing when warmed up. Prices were a bit high but the quality was definitely there. I need to return and pick up some of their loose teas and more quiche for sure!
