burnt food should never even leave the kitchen let alone be served. Woman at register stated she was the owner and boy was she rude and miserable. Only took $3 off while bill that was $60 and change. and might i mention she accused my mom of complaining before. smh. used to be our favorite place to eat. will never go again
Good solid, home cooked tasting food. Ordered a tuna salad on rye and husband had a blt with fries. Both were perfect! The rye bread was everything this east coast girl had been missing in the wilds of Illinois! Husbands sandwich on great tasting Italian bread, was tasty and crispy. Fries were hot and yummy. A must stop from 8am to 8pm in Schenectady!
The owner was absolutely amazing. We have been on a very long road trip (6 days on the road) with two kids (2.5y & 9m) and she entertained our son the entire time so he could get some of his energy out. We will definitely be back if we drive through the area again. SO happy we found this place. The food was also amazing. The best breakfast we've had the entire road trip! Thank you guys!
We came in as a foursome to order brunch. I had eggs benedict, my partner had eggs Florentine, the other two had scrambled eggs with a side of French toast. They were the best eggs benedict I've ever had. The Hollandaise sauce was light and lemony and delicious. Unfortunately my partner didn't have luck as good as mine. They put Canadian bacon on his eggs florentine and he doesn't eat meat. My parents were very happy with their French toast and scrambles. I would say overall it was a great meal for three out of four of us. We ordered dessert the coconut cream and the lemon meringue were both old and dry the meringue was so old that you couldn't get your fork through it. My fork got stuck in the meringue and it lifted off in one piece. The staff were cranky and overworked. But it was clean and nicely if we wanted and the food was good for the most part.

I've been frequenting this diner for the past few weeks, thanks to the prices at Blue Ribbon skyrocketing. I wasn't sure what to expect, because this is an old diner that has been in Schenectady on Hamburg Street forever. What I found was a pleasant surprise.We checked it out for brunch one Sunday, and found that the menu was varied like most diners, they had some great specials, and the wait staff was very friendly. What makes or breaks a diner experience is the staff, a clean uncluttered environment, good prices, and obviously the food. This place gets a thumbs up for all of those factors.My chicken sandwich was really great, but more importantly the French fries that came with it were perfectly cooked diner fries. Something that a lot of places mess up by using starch coated french fries, bad seasonings, or poor cook temperature. I'm happy to report that there were none of those problems here.The next time I went back I had French toast, which was excellent, perfectly cooked bacon on the side, and eggs exactly how I wanted them.Simple and to the point, that's what good diners are known for and I'll be coming back for years to come.
Been going there for years today i ordered a pickup of a hotdog and the owner asked if i was going to leave a generous tip and showed me a sign that says we like generous tips!! It’s takeout if i sat in then i could understand. Then she says it louder so others can hear. That was it i won’t be forced to tip. That’s the last I’ll go there. My family has gone for years and I’ve informed family and friends to pass this on. Nobody should feel like that especially from an owner. Goodbye. Remember we all forgot you got caught for storing all your food on the ground by the food and health administration . We know you had 31 violations. Think about that before you decide to embarrass a lifelong customer!!
Returning customer after 30+ years. Today’s breakfast/lunch made my Easter weekend perfect. Can’t wait to return. My Spanish omelette was exactly as I remembered it!! Deeeeeeelishous !! Great service, great food, great family experience………… yummmmm

Sent a family member in for employment. Very disappointed with the out come. The manager and owner so rude and unprofessional. That’s how you treat someone who is very young just starting in the working world. Bashing others competitors on the same street. Bad business. My family and friends will no longer go to this location. And happy my family member declined the job.
