Our party of five opted for outdoor seating on Perreca's covered patio since it was a lovely evening. Service was very competent and friendly. We requested some pasta substitutions and the kitchen followed through with no problem. Pasta was cooked perfectly. We all had enough to bring a bit home. Food was very good. If side salads had not been ala carte, this would be a 5* review!

Been a long time since I had eaten here. My DIL thoughtfully made reservations for Mother's Day. I had my favorite, Eggs in Purgatory. Delicious as always but the famous Perrecas bread was toasted with no butter. (Is that a COVID thing?) My son had Eggs Benedict which he enjoyed and our companions had Scrambled eggs with Fennel which they enjoyed, along with another order of Eggs in Purgatory. For Mother's Day it was jamming with an additional tent set up outside. Took time to get our food and settle the bill. Not a surprise with the volume of people. Enjoyed nonetheless!

Our visit to More Perraca's was for lunch Fri 4/08/22 2pm. We've been want to stop here for meal other than for their great breakfasts. It was Schenectady's Restaurant week and they were offering a 3 course lunch for $20. There were two starter choices (soup or salad), four entree choices, & 3 dessert choices. It was a great value for an excellent lunch. My dearest had the salad, an eggplant sandwich on Perreca's famous crusty Italian bread, and the dessert galette w/ raspberries. The eggplant was sliced surgically thin, tender & juicy piled high on a heel of their bread. I had Italian wedding soup, full of flavor & not salty, the muffaletta - prosciutto, capicola, mortadella, & provolone topped w/ their own olive salad (could have used a bit more on this large sandwich) and the dessert limoncello cheesecake. Sandwiches are served w/ parmigiana fries. These fries were excellent - crunchy outside & fluffy inside. Most definitely cooked properly by frying them twice. We took a half of the eddplant & our desserts to go. Molto Bene! An overall great value. Wine & beer were $6 each. Service was outstanding. Our wait person was the friendly Allison . Excellent food in a timely manner. Attentive wait staff & a good job by the kitchen. Hours are M-Sat 4am-5:30pm. We highly recommend here for meals. And stop next door at their original bakery since 1914. Maybe you can ask nicely a peek at their coal-fired brick oven where the magic happens. We sat in the booth next to Alton & Mrs. Brown who were doing his show @ Proctors. And no, we didn't intrude on their lunch. Personal note: I've been eating Perreca's red tomato pie since I was able to reach the counter with my 10 cents. Thank you to Maria & your staff for a big old serving of excellence. This used to be my favorite restaurant in Schenectady growing up. Now it's the worse and way overpriced. The Bakery on the other hand is excellent and very well priced. Never go there for restaurant week, portions are super small and I left still hungry. All other restaurants in Schenectady for restaurant week were excellent and portions were huge. I kept going back thinking it will get better and I am always disappointed. It is not like it used to be and there are so many better restaurants in Schenectady.

I ordered "Take Out" for me and my husband today as a special treat!! Nobody beats Perreca's Tomato Pie, Italian soups or Italian bread! Absolutely awesome! A+++++++❤❤❤❤❤??????????They have the "best ever" ladies who take your order, pack it so neatly and send you on your way! Thank you ladies! You are awesome! Perreca's you made my day and my husband's also!?????

Great every time no matter what dish I get!

Cannot say enough about how great the sever, and chef accommodated the customers . Especially as they were the only employees worker Wednesday night 2/9/22.The chicken marsala was prepared with my special request with the pasta on the side with marinara sauce. Excellent! The only sever was moving from table to table with grace and very, very professional during the stressful busy night .We are longing forward to our next dinner experience. Thank you !!!

The best bread period. Baked fresh daily. No preservatives. They run out often so get there early. Great crust, dense middle. They also offer Italian deli items, sauces, pasta & olives. They have a restaurant too which I need to try!

Delicious and fresh, authentic and original Italian food. Very quaint, no frills dining room. Service with a smile. Outdoor patio in warm weather looks inviting.Eggplant Parmigiano was fantastic, Eggs in Purgatory also a favorite.

Grew up eating on Jay St. Order a cheese pie. The sauce and Parmigiano cheese. It was cold not room temp. And 33$ Thirty three dollars for a 4$ in cost pie! I ordered it, so I bought it. But 33$ for a pie with only dough sauce and lightly sprinkle on Parmigiano cheese. Nostalgia is o er priced.
