This is a hidden gem in Schenectady. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The wait staff was efficient and pleasant. Our food was delivered by the chef, and he checked back to make sure we were enjoying it. You really should give them a try next time you’re wondering where to go for dinner.
Made reservations for a special Valentine's day with my wife. Heard a lot of good things but seems not worth the hype. They seemed very ill prepared. When we finally got all 5 courses they came out in the wrong order. It was well over 2 plus hours and we had to ask for dessert to go. Food was good but they kept forgetting what course we were on and the med steak showed up well done, and luke warm. Saving grace was the duck tagliatelle. The black cod was tasty but full of bones. For the price and expected quality it fell well short. Also we were not the only ones stuck waiting. We could have gone to Glen Sanders Mansion and been better off easily.
This was my third visit to Malcolm's since they've opened but I hadn't been there in over a year. This time, I visited with a party of 8 after a Sunday matinee at Proctors. Since I selected the restaurant, I was a little nervous about everyone liking it. Well, they didn't like it, they loved it! The service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meal and was raving about the place. I'm sure Malcolm's made some new customers this evening. If you are in Schenectady, be sure to check them out!
Very much enjoyed my experience at Malcom's this evening. All the customers around seemed happy too. Service is great, server and bar tender are very friendly and do a great job creating a great dining experience for those dining in. The food is absolutely amazing. I especially love the squash fritters. Love the music too. Would highly recommend! A must do in Schenectady
I just went to Malcolm's with a group of friends and it was incredible! I especially appreciated the creativity of the seasonal menu for this farm-to-table restaurant in January. Would be here all the time if I lived in the area! To start, we had a number of appetizers. Our favorites were the crispy brussel sprouts with bacon jam and the smoked ricotta with snap peas -- I had never had anything like it before but the ricotta was incredible, like a better version of hummus. The duck sope really stole the show though. It was so juicy with a handmade corn cake you could tell was freshly made. I loved the sope so much I ended up ordering the duck confit as my entree with a side of sweet potatoe puree, green beans, and beets and I am so happy I did. It was easily the best duck I have ever had, it just melted in your mouth. For dessert, we tried everything, the sticky toffee pudding, apple cobbler, and chocolate pot de creme, which honestly were all delicious. If I had to pick, I would say the vanilla ice cream on the toffee pudding was my absolute favorite. I heard they make it fresh on site. You have to check this place out!!
It was decent. Good food. Nothing profound. Moderate to small portions. The dessert was a complete let down. They need to be more creative. The drink was very lack luster too. Food was cooked nicely, well plated, unique butter and fritters. Unique use of squash. Staff was very attentive. Very accommodating with substitutes.
Craft cocktails were amazing. Food was excellent. A new favorite spot. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely experience here! Amazing food with great tasting ingredients and they have the best bartender!
My wife and I went for my birthday over the weekend. The atmosphere is industrial. The bar is not what I would say a fully stocked one but the bartender was very friendly and made excellent suggestions on cocktails. The menu is limited but it changes practically every day and what they had was of a reasonable variety. We both ordered the chicken breast with a mushroom gravy over whipped potatoes. The waitress was good to forewarn us that that dish takes aprox. 35min. to prepare. So we ordered an appetizer. Well, the appetizer alone could have been the meal. A double patty burger with fries. both fries and burger we shared and a good thing we did. Cooked to perfection. juicy and packed with flavor. The entrees were juicy, hot and just the right portioning. We followed up with a peach cobbler which to us was more of a peach crumble. All-in-all I would definitely return. Best meal we had our entire stay..
First of all; make reservations, and keep in mind that the menu changes depending on what they’re able to source. We ended up with a table outside which was perfect. Would definitely recommend for brunch.
