This was our first visit to John Riccitellos Restautprant in Schenectady. We were very impressed with the food. We had lasagna, and eggplant parm as our main entrees. They were delicious and large portions. The dressing on the salad were all homemade. We ended up with a Baileys Cheesecake.which was amazing. The wait staff could not have been any more attentive and nice. We would recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful experience, great service, generous portions look forward to going back!!

I just loved it. The atmosphere, the food, the wine! I’d recommend it to everyone!

Excellent food! We will definitely be back?

Family owned restaurant by honest respectful Family. Food is delicious. Wait Staff is great. The chocolate pie and rum cake, which I heard is homemade is the best.

Worst service I have ever experienced, do not go here!! We were a party of 4, had the 6PM seating tonight for New Year’s Eve. The 4 of us eat out frequently, and despite the limited menu (as expected for a busy New Year’s Eve), and also expecting to wait, and being VERY patient, we did not get drinks for 51 minutes, at which time we put in our dinner order. While we were seated promptly at 6, it still took 51 minutes to get a drink and put in our order. We watched while all of the other tables seated at 6, and after our party, received their appetizers, entrees, desserts, and checks, and yet by 8:10, we still had not gotten our dinners. That was in excess of an hour and a quarter after ordering when the waitress came out and told us it would still be a few more minutes. We brought the long wait to her attention, along with the fact that all of the other tables, including those seated after us had been served, and she told us there was nothing she could do, to tell the owner. And so we did, and he said it was not his fault, and offered no remedy. If not the owner’s fault, then whose? Isn’t that the point of a limited menu and reserved, timed seatings? So after 2 and a quarter hours, we left with no dinner. I have never experienced such incredibly poor service, and such a cavalier attitude in my life. Thank you for ruining this holiday for us—there are way too many fine Italian dining alternatives available to endure this rude, deplorable treatment. Avoid this place—I would give zero stars if I could!

Absolutely terrible attitude by owner John Riccitello and his wait staff. Was seated on New Years Eve for the 6pm seating. Took waitress 52 minutes to take our drink order and then another twenty minutes to deliver them. Can't comment on quality of the food because ours never came out of the kitchen. At 810pm we decided to leave after being there over 2 hours. Spoke to owner John Riccitello and he just chuckled and said "it's New Years Eve". I though that is why restaurants have a limited menu on these days, Plenty of good Italian Restaurants in Schenectady that appreciate your business. Riccitello's in NOT one of them

Overall great place....food was delicious all old school Italian food....a little difficult to find as its in the middle of an old house in a neighborhood....interior is a little older as well. If you are looking for a modern swanky place this is not it, but if you are looking for really good food and good service I would highly recommend!

One of the hidden gems of Schenectady the food is amazing. Ordered a few times for delivery and back in the day I would go there with family. Amazing portions and amazing service. This place deserves to be number 1.

amazing food treat like family a must go hidden treasure
