Went there for the first time yesterday. I don’t know what people are talking about when they say that the staff is rude and short with customers. The woman behind the counter was extremely nice in helping me. On top of that, the pastries were absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back!
Do not spend your money here. I witnessed the lady being incredibly verbally abusive to a customer who had a small service dog. The obnoxious manner and tone was completely unacceptable and not in keeping with what one would expect in Scarsdale Village.
Cold, not fresh pastries, very rude and unprofessional service. Highly overpriced. Do not recommend to anybody!
I wanted to order a cake for someone nearby and to support a local bakery. The person who answered the phone hung up on me when I stated that I could not hear her. I called back repeatedly and she would answer and hang up. I told her that I just wanted to order a cake and she just sat there and said nothing. When I finally was able to say something without her hanging up, she just waited, said nothing, and hung up. I will never contact this establishment again. People who want to have business, should be gracious and kind. I asked for the Manager, or owner and she told me that she was it. She was totally unprofessional and completely rude and unkind!
Beautiful woman behind the counter is always welcoming when I enter and she always smiles and speaks. She knows I love her palmiers and crème brûlée.As you’re waiting, you can sit and have a cup of delicious aroma filled coffee and she smiles and converses with you. If you’ve never visited, you don’t know what a real palmier is. I’d travel 200 miles just stop and pick of 5 of her palmiers.
This bakery is only so so. The staff doesn't wear masks. Croissants are greasy. They do sell Sarah Bernhardts. I bought a cake there and it was too dry.

Place is renovating and it’s off its mark at this point. The service is not French, the place feels disorganized and many pastries are unavailable. Will come back in a few months when they’re ready.
For 33 years my husband has purchased The Renaissance cake for my Birthday. This year it was way overpriced plus the cake collapsed. It was missing a layer the layer of coffee filling (used to be a layer of chocolate, vanilla & coffee)and the meringue was complete air. It was terrible!!!!!
Croissants are delicious and their “Renaissance “ cake is just mind blowing (its crunchiness makes it hard to cut unless frozen!)
