Strolling through Saratoga confused what to choose from and we walk in to this place as there was no wait time. No wait time doesn't mean they don't have good food.We ordered soup of the day (Smoked chicken chowder), crab cakes and grilled salmon. The food was consistent and good. My rating of 4 was totally based on food. The food. Like I mentioned earlier was good but I have had the same better elsewhere. The service and ambience are great and would rate it a 5 star. They have a great selection of wines to choose from. This place is good for every occasion and a heaven for someone who loves wine.
We had actually gone there for many years in a row. Trying to support this business. A really nice bar. And in the past we have had very good food. Well this year was different. We got there and there was no bartender. He had to leave to find his dog. But the server, Sarah I believe. She was wonderful trying to do everything. After a bottle of wine at the bar. We sat for a dinner that we were looking forward to. First night of the week it was open. The special soup we ordered. They were out of soup. Five of the entrées are served with whipped potatoes. They had no potatoes. It was a joke. The owner ( I think Melissa) came over and could care less. not even an apology or anything. We finished our bottle of wine and left. Unfortunately our favorite place we will never go back to. By the way we had also recommended this restaurant to numerous couples over the years. When I think about it there was only one or two tables with people inside. And every other restaurant was packed. Now I know why.
Awesome place! The cigar room in the back was OUTSTANDING, very comfortable and awesome to be able to enjoy a cigar inside
Our family recently used the private room at The Wine Bar. The space, food and drinks were topped only by the AMAZING staff and service. Thank you Melissa and the entire team. You made a graduation celebration truly memorable!
Excellent service from hostess to bartender. Well informed of guest options fromSmoke lounge to wine service. Extremely accommodating and knowledgeable of the downtown area. Will be back!
Does sommelier here it’s amazing. Very knowledgeable. We had the Charcuterie board and everything was amazing. Then we ordered the crabcakes to share and they were some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area.
We used to go here all the time - interesting, tasty food, along with an excellent wine selection. We were very disappointed this time. Chicken skewers were rubbery and unspiced, potatoes in the chicken pot pie were undercooked although the biscuit was delicious. I rarely complain but I did voice my concerns to our waiter who responded, “I’m sorry to hear that” and walked away. I’m chalking it up to pandemic issues - maybe a new chef?- but am unlikely to go back.
We were very disappointed in our visit. I had researched places to go and thought this would be a perfect spot for a valentines early dinner. When we were seated, we were given 3 different menus - wine, dinner and specials, but we could only order food off the one - Happy Hour - menu - Entrees were not served until 4pm. I don't know why they didn't tell me that when I made the reservation yesterday. Nowhere on the website did I see that. Also, just a side note, the menu on the website is not current with what was on the current menu. I would have been disappointed with the entree options anyways,Nevermind, we would flex as they have an extensive happy hour menu and I was not going to let that ruin our nice event. I chose the steak and cheese panini with fries (i was famished - was expecting a meal, remember?) and my husband opted for a soup and some nuts. We also ordered a couple of glasses of wine.Unfortunately, when my plate arrived, it was a ham, apple and cheese panini - (ham = deli meat ham, not ham steak). When I expressed my surprise to an employee, he went and checked and informed me it was a "misprint" in the menu. I'm not one to waste food - so I kept the meal even though it was not really what I wanted. And of course, I paid for the full price of the steak and cheese panini even though that's not what I got.I would have ordered something else had I known it was a ham sandwich. Our wines were nice and my husband's soup and nuts were good. However, when a restaurant states one thing on their menu, serves another item and then does not take care of it with regards to the bill, we know to not visit that restaurant again. There are plenty of amazing places to dine - no need to waste our time on this one again.
Such an awesome place. The staff does everything to make you feel at home here . Dale is a gem !! Eric … perfection!!
Beautiful, upscale bar; however, the owner/manager is a curt, disrespectful person who lectures patrons for blocking the walkway, which happens to be the standing area in front of the bar. Bartenders and choices of wine were excellent. I will be happy to support other businesses in Saratoga, and I’m quite certain the owner/manager won’t care. Bye!✋?
