When you walk in to an Asian restaurant and all of the customers are Asian, you know you are getting the real deal. If you like Americanized Chinese food, this will not be your cup of Oolong tea. But if you are looking for authentic Asian experience (the kind where you are not sure if what's in your mouth is some sort of vegetable or maybe fish...?), this is the place. The food was amazing (only disappointment was the eggplant in garlic sauce-- sauce was bland and no heat at all) and while the service was friendly and prompt, there were no return visits to check on us or fill water (which was desperately needed).
After readying all the negative comments I was pretty skeptical about how service will be as all the negative reviews mentioned food was 10/10 but service sucked but I must say, I experience no racism no rush out vibes whatsoever. The one waitress handled all pickup and dine in orders and did it very effortlessly. So if service is your concern, do not hesitate and just give it a go.Now nothing really to mention about food, it was phenomenal. Very authentic to Sichuan style cuisine. We had Sichuan Chicken Feet - if you're weirded out don't be and just give it a chance trust me it's absolutely delicious. Also the boiled Sichuan fish is my favorite, we had a few other dishes but I'd be fine with eating just the boiled fish soup as my only dish (you eat it with rice not really a soup but soupy in texture). The other two dishes we got was egg plant garlic sauce, and beef brisket hotpot both very different flavor profile and yummy as well.Lastly, I've eaten a lot of Sichuan food, not being a local, so I definitely rate this as a top, hidden gem for sure. Not sure why rating numbers is so low, so if you're looking for places to eat and come across this review, look no further and YOU'RE WELCOME ?Cheers ?
The food here is awesome. Every dish I have order exceeds my expectations. Definitely worth the 100 miles (each way) to come here and enjoy myself. They even serve delicious quality white rice with the dishes order which makes it all the merrier. The restaurant is pretty busy at most meal times, so be patient and wait to be served. You will be rewarded.
My parents raved about this little gem of a restaurant. Damn the food was authentic, seasoned and wonderful( sesame chicken, white rice ,vegetable spring rolls, fried wings and salt and pepper squid. All the meat was tender , and the way they cooked that damn squid OMG so good flavorful and tender. Everything was so fresh and hot! I will definitely eat here again ( My son and I had takeout). We will dine in next time!! And bring the family. Special shout out to that cook tonight the food was fire!????
I went for lunch yesterday with three friends. We ordered Ma Po Tofu, Curry Chicken, Eggplant w Minced Meat, and Pork in Peking Sauce. Every dish was fantastic, though we agreed that the eggplant was our favorite because it was cooked to perfection. An incredible meal with leftovers for everyone. Wish I lived in Rochester - this would become one of my regular spots!
First time here. Service was good. Fried fish tasted nicely peppery, but too greasy and fish thin and coated too heavily. Spoke with Ada who appreciated input. Spicy beef delicious and spicy enough for my husband.
OMG so good! Hidden gem! Don't mind the "Cash4Gold" store in front, haha. Loved the Hunan style fish (spicy but not too spicy) and the fried dumplings (pan fried, perfectly cooked) with a lovely dipping sauce. FYI the fish comes with vegetables and rice. Also ordered the mixed vegetables since I didn't know the fish came with them and then the vegetables came with tofu! That was in a nice mild sauce. Everything came out fast and the server was very nice.
best sesame chicken in the area hands down.
You might think Kung Fu Tea is it. Nope, but you're close! Park, walk to your left to the next building (Gold 4 Cash Pawn Shop), then right, around that building, and the front door is on the side of the Gold 4 Cash building. Food is very good. Nice portions. Reasonable price.
Ordered fried dumplings, hot and sour soup, and kung bao chicken online. Food was ready for pickup on time. Dumplings were pretty good, a little soggy, the sauce was good. Hot and sour soup was okay, but lacked the body I'm used to. No noodles or crackers were provided with the soup. I'd asked for fried rice instead of steamed, but got steamed nonetheless. The kung bao chicken had the proper heat (spice), but was very dry - there was virtually no sauce. I found some hoisin sauce in the fridge and that made it edible. I might give them another try with different selections - maybe this was just an off light.
