Went there before and the food was great and there are vegan options at a diner so my wife and I could eat together. Somehow they were out of vegan batter when we came in today. The staff was very understanding but there isn't much else for a vegan to have. Here is how easy it is to make vegan batter.1.5 cups of flour1/3 cup of sugar2 teaspoons of baking powderPinch of salt3 tablespoons of coconut, canola, or even vegetable oilDash of vanilla1 cup of dairy free milk. You'd like to think that ingredients are on hand. How are they making batter if it is not fresh made? Concerning.Anyway, if you are vegan or have a vegan in the party call ahead. It is worth it when they have stuff.
Holy heck this place is impressive! They have a massive amount of breakfast options! Their pancakes are huge! My wife ordered a French toast made with slices of banana bread, covered in walnuts and banana slices. I ordered the El Paso. An omelette, with cheddar cheese, and jalapeno, chorizo. Topped with Chili. The potatoes were crispy. Hands down the best breakfast in chili, NY! We just went this morning and are already planning to go back tomorrow!Update: We keep coming back and having great experiences. Don't let the weekend line discourage you, these folks do a wonderful job getting you in. It's not uncommon for the line to go down the side of the building but somehow the longest wait I have had is 20 minutes
My wife and I went here for breakfast on her birthday. She has celiac and had a gluten free pancake that was so big she took half of it home. Staff is very nice and atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a home town diner. We will definitely go back.
This is one of the best breakfast places around. If your in the area and it’s breakfast or lunch time this is the place to go. The menu is large so everyone can get something they enjoy. The food is phenomenal. If anyone leaves a review for less than 5 stars it’s a crime.
I recommend to eat anywhere else in Chili. Very unsanitary place to eat. I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. Food came out and their was some kind of gray hair or thread in my eggs. I told waitress and she took it back. I asked for new eggs. They came back with hair or thread in them again. I was totally done at this point and told them I'm not paying for that. They seemed offended and I told them I will never be back.
First time there. Won't be our last. Good food and service. Be warned the pancakes are big enough to feed a family lol!
As a single woman with no kids I find it difficult to cook for one so I like to eat out. The Original Steve’s Diner in Chili is one of my favorites! They have a huge menu with many of your typical breakfast foods. I love the Texas French toast or the Diner Breakfast Bowl. My favorite is the staff however! Meg, Tori, JoJo, Mary, Jen, Toby and Ginny really take care of you! The service is the best and they really make you feel like family! Give them a try! You won’t be disappointed.
Get there early! This place is hopping on the weekends. The menu has a good variety and everything is made to order. Real bacon too!
food is honestly horrible and overpriced. The eggs benedict is drowned in sauce the spinach is soggy. Social distancing is not a factor here. If you want to get COVID this is your restaurant. Honestly trashy horrible place
I attempted to get breakfast Saturday morning 2/12. They told us a 20 minute wait, no problem there. After 40 minutes of waiting in my car, I walked inside simply to make sure the phone number was written down correctly. Was given attitude by hostess for doing so, snarky comment of "well you can wait inside the door". I was told at that point there was 1 group ahead of us. Again, not a big deal to be a bit past the wait time.Another 20 minutes goes by, an hour wait at this point. We have to leave for a funeral reception. WE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. I called 2 hours later to let them know, and was given attitude AGAIN. I was simply informing them that i never received a call after waiting.Based on this experience I will be keeping my business with NCFR. Dont tell people 20 minutes when it will be over an hour. Just be honest.
