Got there and went to go inside but door was locked. They came to the door and mentioned how they don't open for another half hour. They allowed us to place a order after telling us what was on the menu. The seafood trio was very tasty

First time ordering. Placed an online order on Sunday at 2:50 pm (there supposed to be open from 1-9pm) got to the restaurant and it was closed. My card was charged and now I’ll prob have to go through hell just to get my money back from this business. Black businesses do better!
When they have a get together it seems that the neighborhood gets garbage and bottles thrown around. Nobody goes out and cleans it up. Plus they park on the side street and it makes it hard to go up the hill and get hit head on.
Taste of the Bahamas is one of my favorite places to eat in Rochester.When you walk through the door you immediately feel the Bahamian vibe that you experience in the Bahamas. They are a family business and the owners make it a point to personally great each person who comes through the door.The food is excellent and hearty. I have had their seafood trio, lobster, red snapper, oxtails, wings, jerk chicken, jerk pork, curry goat, and pepper steak. Each meal was awesome with great Caribbean seasonings. Some days they have conch salad and conch fritters. The conch salad is amazing and I definitely recommend it.The last notable mention is their rum punch. If you haven't had it you are missing out.
Moved to Rochester from Jersey and this has been my one stop every since ..food, drinks, and laughter... family owned business and place that make you feel welcomed! Food is delicious...I would definitely Recommend

I had a 2:00 reservation for 4 today and restaurant did not open. Second time in 6 months I’ve attempted to dine at your restaurant and was supposed to be open and wasn’t. I specifically called this time to make sure you would be open and was told yes and took my reservation and when we got there, again you weren’t open. Would not recommend this restaurant!

Wonderful food, had the chicken wings and Mac salad. My wife had the ribs and rice and Mac salad.. we had to much food and bought 1/2 home for tomorrow. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back and have the ribs.
