Very poorly treated by hostess and kitchen manager Hostess was rude about seating us. When I asked if she would take a name, she said “ I already have one”- we have been eating and playing trivia for many Wednesday Nights. We enjoy the food and the game. When my husband tried to order he was ignored then told tersely to wait. We won’t be back .

I was in Rochester for work and was excited going into this BBQ joint on the recommendation of a coworker. Once I arrived their was very little staff so I assume that's why the service we did recieve was slow and not welcoming. I ordered a brisket sandwich with fries. Unfortunately it was just ok. Im a huge BBQ sauce person and the option were very limited. If I'm back out to the area I would try it again to see if. I just hit a bad time.

So let me start out with I am a home pit master and travel alot so I am very critical of my hard earned dollars. 3 years ago had a good experience here. Last night nope. The wait was only a half hour so we went to the bar a had a couple drinks and pleasant conversation. We were told table was ready and we ordered our food. 1. How does a BBQ joint not have southern sweet tea? Ok, for the food I ordered the brisket bomb and Mac n cheese, both were ice cold. So I told the waitress and she looks at me and says why do you want me to do I didn't make it? What! Seriously that was not the response I expected. So Sara went back with my food and I tried my wife's Mac. N cheese and it was different then mine mine. Very odd. My one son tried the ribs and they were a little overdone. This is the case of another larger BBQ joint that has lost touch with providing good quality q.

I had to change my rating for this place. Went during the week, it was great. Came back on the weekend, and it was horrible. Stood at the host (ghost) station for almost 15 minutes waiting to be seen by anyone. Then another 15 minutes to even be greeted by our server. Plus, it was louder than loud in there. I had to yell just to be heard across our table. I can't imagine how horrible a band must sound with such bad acoustics. Got the "smoked turkey". IT'S DELI MEAT!!! Not even real turkey. No smoke ring on the brisket that tasted more like pot roast than brisket. Was it boiled? "Hand cut style" fries were obviously frozen junk. They can make homemade chips, but not fries? Ridiculous! Side of chili... tasty but cold. And only one side with a platter? Go south. Meat and three is the standard. Sauces? They were thick and rich during the week, and watered down thin junk on the weekend. I RATE THIS PLACE A RIPOFF, SCAM.

Our party of 4 walked out after having drinks and 4 pig wings. We ordered 2 salads, 10 piece chicken bites, and a Cuban sandwich. We got the 4 wings a half hour later, and then an hour and then and hour later, we still had not received our food. We asked and the waitress said “it should be coming” but never checked, and basically dismissed or acknowledged how long we waited. I asked again as we had to get on the road and she proceeded to tell us “chicken takes a while” and I mentioned we only had bites, salads and a sandwich. She dismissed this again, not even acknowledging the time frame. We then saw the table next to us get their full meals and they showed up a half hour after us, so we figured our food was forgotten. We asked the lovely hostess to please grab our check that we had to go. She at least checked and said it was coming, but the waitress told us she didn’t order our food until after we got the 4 pig wings and that’s the order she does things and “didn’t realize we were in a rush” after we sat and hour and a half with no food. We left $50 which was probably way to much and left. The waitress needs a lesson in customer service and how to navigate handling a room.

I tend to travel a lot for my business and consider myself to be an aficionado of good barbecue the dinner I had the other night were some of the meatiest ribs and well balanced seasoning that Ive ever had! It was refreshing to see that this place cooks their bone in chicken over real charcoal. A HUGE list of sides and a nice line up of draft beer, with local selections. I am a happy camper.

Traveling through the area and a family member that lives near here wanted us to try this place. I checked the website and it clearly stated "we are open". Yet when we got there only one car was in the lot, plastic covering over a portion of the front and a sign saying it was closed for remodeling. No big deal, as there were many other eating establishments close and we had a great meal down the road.

Sticky lips is a great local place to grab some BBQ. I especially enjoy the sticky-icky plate and the brisket salad. Their cornbread and cheesey grits are great as well! There is plenty of space in the dining room for larger groups but sometimes parking can be difficult when they are busy.

We decided to eat here today and don't get me wrong, I totally understand being short staffed.. everyone is with the current times. I work in retail, so I get it. But the hostess, or at least I think she was the hostess, took forever to come seat us. There were at least 2 people working the bar who noticed us at the door and never acknowledged us standing in the lobby. They could have at least said "someone will be with you in a minute." We honestly almost left before we were finally seated. Our waitress was rude. We asked what was on tap and she went to get a drink menu. When she returned she asked us again what we would like to drink and we stated we thought you were bringing us a drink menu? She was annoyed with us asking because it "wasn't updated with the current selection" and went to find one. She barely checked on us after getting our food and it seemed that tending the bar was a priority over checking on tables. The guy who brought the food out was really great, and remembered that we ordered something that wasn't available at the time that our food was ready so he came back out and asked if we still wanted it.Food wasn't bad, but service could have been better.

The food smell good when I got my bag. After go home to eat my meal, the ribs did not have that much meat on them, but was tasted. The Risk it was dry and the vegetables was good. I feel like they gave me Dated brisket and ribs.
