We had 4 menus to choose from. The dining room was very loud and then the piano player began playing. The music was enjoyable but unfortunately added to the noise. Our waiter was tending bar, training new staff AND waiting tables. The food WAS delicious but my order wasn't right, but not wrong enough to complain. We'll maybe try again but on the hibachi side.
Went to the Sikora Japanese Hibachi side. Very busy, great food as always. A little difficulty getting chef service when seated 1 hour and 15 minutes to get chef table side. But Mgmt was very sympathic, and made the situation right for our table. Will return again to enjoy their great food. Thank you.
horrible. it is either too spicy or just plain bland. expensive compared to other places near by
I'm not Chinese but I'm an expert Chinese food consumer and this place could be 5 stars but there are some lazy aspects of their cooking that they should tighten up. Their prices are higher than just about everywhere else so they not only need to deliver high quality ingredients, which they do, but they need to avoid some glaring errors in some of their dishes. The beef was cooked in way too much sesame oil that made it nearly inedible. The egg roll wrapper is sweet, like a pound cake. No good. The tofu is undercooked. The noodles were outstanding as was the wonton soup. They cook vegetables perfectly every time. Sweet and sour chicken was really good and they use a high quality rice that I enjoy. So I think just pay attention to these details to deliver a product worthy of the higher prices.
We had 8 people and everyone enjoyed their meal. The only "complaint" was the seseme chicken had a slight orange flavor to it. Not bad, just unexpected for seseme chicken. I got Buddha Delight, a vegetarian dish but removed the tofu and added chicken. It was very good. I tried from other's plates: house lomein, beef and broccoli, wonton soup, all were really good. But my niece got the lemon chicken and it was great! And the portions were very large. I can't tell you the last time we ALL enjoyed our Chinese food. Since the Jade Palace in Webster went down hill years ago we have been searching for good Chinese and we have tried a lot of places. The staff was great, everything was clean. It was a little pricey but we all brought home leftovers for another meal. We will go back again! The photo is of lemon chicken.
It was good but the place looks like is falling apart. Ceiling tiles broken or missing.
Always good even eating in Sakura Home
Terrible. I ordered Hot and Sour soup and Chicken Lo Mein to go. The chicken was slimy. So I tried the soup, which was going well until I bit into something with the consistency of a potato - turned out to be a large lump of spice paste that should have been dissolved in the soup I guess. It tasted terrible (imagine chewing on a hot spicy boullion cube and that approximates it). Even the fried noodles that came with the soup were stale. I ended up tossing it all in the trash - and it wasn't cheap!
Truly fantastic food. Never had a bad meal here. And it’s consistently delicious. The desserts are an added bonus!
Red Sun is now just a menu at the Sokura Home restaurant. It is not the same quality we were used to before the pandemic. The wine was good, the salmon with aspergus was good, the mongolian beef was poor, the fried rice was not fried but was white rice with soy sauce, I have had their side of fried rice many times before- this wasn' it. The aspergus was stalks only no tips, flavorful but unusual. The prices on the menu are not the price charged on the bill. The manager said they raised the price (apparently after we sat down). She offered a discount coupon for next time because changing the charge would be very troublesome. The waiter told us he was not a Red Sun waiter after we asked a question about the menu. The Mongolian beef came with red pepper flakes after requesting none.Service was very slow from the kitchen. The waiter explained the reason the other tables were served faster is because they ordered from Sakura Home menu.Hoping the staff and chef for Red Sun return soon.
