This is the first Mexican restaurant I have visit in Rochester, and I wasn’t disappointed. They have some radiant sitting area, not sure what those paintings around are about, they felt aesthetic. Sitting area is clean and tidy.Coming to the food, their menu is vast. They offered Nachos with salsa as welcome food. They are hot and crispy. I ordered El Paso which comprises of chicken taco, enchilada and quesadilla. They taste delicious and spicy. Prices are decent.

Took my mom to lunch here and it was the first time at this restaurant for the both of us. We were seated in a colorful booth immediately and given menus. The waitress seemed to be the only one working and the place was half full and has a decent amount of seating but she still managed to come to greet us within minutes. There is quite a few items on the menu including some American favorites for the picky people in your party. I had the camarones deluxe lunch plate which is shrimp rice and beans. I also ordered a special taco which was like a supreme soft shell beef taco with cheese melted over the taco. The shrimp was Delicious! In fact everything was. I tried the verde hot sauce which is green and it was super spicy! My mom had a rice and chicken plate that included a small portion of salad. She enjoyed her meal as well. There are also $3.50 margaritas which I didn't try that day because my mother doesn't drink and I was driving. Our meals came up to $28 altogether which was awesome considering I was super full for the whole day. I will return!

Just ate there for the first time. I had chicken enchiladas, rice and lettuce with tomatoes and sour cream. The waitress was super friendly and I love the colorful decor! My granddaughter had the steak quesadilla which I tasted and the meat was delicious! Another table got shrimp cocktail which comes on a huge brandy glass filled with shrimp! This was lunch and for four people to eat with one cocktail and an ice tea the bill was under $45. Very filling and definitely affordable.

Do not go here! Food was good. But I found a really long black hair in my burrito. I told the waiter and he shrugged mumbled sorry, but nothing else. Did not offer to replace my food with something else from the kitchen, did not take the meal off the bill. Just said sorry and charged full price. They charged me for a meal with a long hair in the food. I have never written a review before but this has to be called out, Everything besides that was fine, but just the way it was handled makes me think there is a lot going on behind the scenes you don’t see as a customer. The waiter acted like it was just getting food that was a little cold.Food was not replaced, and I paid full price. RIDICULOUS. We were planning on bringing our kids back another time but I don’t think so anymore.

We ate dinner from here, TAKE OUT. The food was plentiful, DELICIOUS and the Service was wonderful. The guy taking our order charged us incorrectly, we bought it to his attention. He refunded us the difference, no issues at all. We will certainly be back. If you like MEXICAN FOOD, this is your place. ????

I had previously given 5 star to this restaurant based on pre-pandemic review and indoor dining. However, the last time we ordered food, we decided to give a try to take-out. The restaurant was crowded and we ordered quickly with the cashier. We entered with our masks but hardly anyone coming in to pick-up food or dine-in bother to wear one! We waited in the car almost one hour! My husband had to go back inside to find out what had happened with our order. Inside, he waited longer as they were "checking into it". Very disappointed with customer service, but not as disappointed as we were with the poorly put together food we ordered and presentation was ugly, the avocado (a side to my dish) was close to none and dark on top much to my dismay. My dish included rice and beans, and my husband's did not but ordered for himself a side of rice and beans. Once we opened the bag, it was obvious that to save, they put his side order and, in their mind, it may have included my side as well? Who knows?! The taste and texture of the food was nothing like in the past. No apology, nothing for the exaggerated long wait. It hard to find a good genuine Mexican Restaurant in this county. So far, the one in Victor remains the only one, nothing fancy but Maria's has good food.

We had seen the Gates location of Rancho Viejo a couple of times but never had a chance to stop. Tonight I planned it successfully. The interior is brightly colorful and well laid out. I was a little disappointed that the ice tea was not brewed but it wasn't bad. The wife ordered Carnitas Mexicanas sans beans. The plate was still full of delicious food. I had the Texas fajitas also sans sides. It was a bit light on the beef but still very good. We shared a flan for dessert and it had a nice texture and taste. If you are looking for good Mexican food in Gates then you should try Rancho Viejo.

Very good dinning experience. I came into RV with low expectations thinking "not another wannabe Mexican restaurant that can't make a good taco" They changed my mind quick when I saw shrimp, and steak on a pineapple half. At least they are imaginative. I ordered some tacos just to get a feel for if they can cook the basics and they were pretty good. Al pastor is supposed to be BIG flavor, this was not BIG it was just big. For the location and clientele, it was actually very good. Good enough to go back and prefer it over taco bell. The staff was fun and worked heard to please. More people should go there and they should work on more flavor. They serve good cocktails too.

Host was extremely friendl. Food was fantastic. Quaint little.place. Very busy with a diverse crowd. Really wanted ro.try a Margaritas, but was on the clock.

I really desperately wanted to like this place because my favorite Mexican restaurant is closed on Mondays. While the food may taste good, we had a terrible experience. My food came out with the incorrect type of meat in my enchilada and taco, not once, but two times. We then found a hair in my boyfriend’s food. At this point, we were so grossed out we didn’t want to eat anymore, so I just canceled my order. The manager/owner handled it and comped us appropriately but the amount of mistakes in one sitting is unacceptable. I left frustrated and hungry.
