Lovely little restaurant. The owner was at the front. Didnt know what to get so she suggested the $5 Jerk meal. Very good and the sauce that she had was amazing. You got to make sure to get that on your chicken.

During the lunch hour, I intended to order for a $11 oxtail meal for lunch but unfortunately the owner forced to purchase for a dinner price.Oxtails were not even 100% authentic Jamaican foods.Oxtails for dinner incredibly were few! Rice beans were kind of old as well.If you are in mood eating oxtails so spend your worth of money on Peppa Pot, Reggae Jamaica Restaurant & Bakery and The Jamaican Dutch Pot Restaurant.I would NEVER COME back to that place. The owner was not friendly toward to me. It wasn't my fault to lose my hearing!Thankfully my wife's department @her employer Rochester Institute of Technology has decided not to use People's Choice Kitchen for the annual Ethnic Fest (1k attendants). It's a BIG loss for People's Choice Kitchen.
Food used to be so much better when she had the other cooks years ago. This isn’t true Jamaican food, as you can expect parboiled rice, and jerk chicken that is more like BBQ chicken. And you can also expect the prices to depend on who you are. I gave her $5 for a $4 banana pudding and all of a sudden she forgot prices went up despite it being $4 everywhere in the store/online. I’m happy to see how renown this place is to Rochester but it’s overrated in my opinion.
Amazing food! Finally got the chance to check it out the other week after hearing nothing but good things. The jerk chicken was great, and I loved seeing how much they have done for the community. The folks there were kind enough to give us a bottle of "Boss Sauce", which is delicious on pretty much everything. Overall a fabulous experience.
I'm gonna be honest the oxtails were like just bones like someone ate off of them already I paid 20 dollars for some food that tasted old I know the taste of fresh food and that wasn't it the chicken was old as well IM NEVER GOIN BACK THIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE I THOUGHT MABY I COULD TRY AGAIN BUT NOPE I TELL YOU THIS WHEN THIS RESTAURANT WAS ON CHILI AVE FOOD WAS FRESH BUT I THINK SHES TIRED NOW IM JUST BEING HONEST
I love People's Choice for more than food and excellent customer service. It's her dedication to the community which she serves better than elected officials and Millions served. A small business minority, woman owner continue to do great things day by day, month by month and year after year.
Food was phenomenal, and the owner who prepared it for us was an absolute star. Extremely welcoming and generous with the portions, which is already so inexpensive it’s difficult to imagine how they turn a profit.
Best food I’ve had in Rochester! I always get the jerk chicken with yams and mac&cheese. Always hot, fast, and a pleasant experience.
Excellent authentic food. Great service. Chill vibe.
