great place to be, and if Julio Capoeira is there... more fun to add
I would not really recommend this place to anyone. To be honest, the atmosphere inside the restaurant and the decor are awesome and the waiter was friendly. The main problem I think is their theirs food and cocktails which could probably be very authentic but are not my taste though. Some of the plates that we ordered are warm and not hot, which I think it means that they could be heated and not prepared fresh.
The relaxed ambiance of this exceptional restaurant makes it famous in the city of Rochester. The parking is very convenient. Overall, a wonderful experience and the service was great. The food was awesome. This is a high class restaurant that is a must-visit in Downtown Rochester.
First off, yayyyy cause they have on site parking — not just street parking. But overall, a great experience and good place for a date night. The staff were friendly, the ambience great, the food itself was good, nothing too astonishing (I got the enchiladas). I would come here again.
Amazing drinks!Food was okay. I got the sizzling shrimp. Way too much oil. Could've seasoned it more felt like i was eating oil. And had the chicken enchiladas. It was okay also
We had high hopes after reading other reviews. Probably the WORST meal we have ever had at a restaurant. The restaurant itself was very nice. The food however was not. We ordered chicken wings for an appetizer, and they tasted like they had been simmered in a crockpot all day. They were overcooked. No flavor. We ordered tacos with haddock and the haddock was also overcooked to the point that it didn't even taste like fish. No flavor at all! The tortillas for the tacos were very difficult to chew (rubbery). It was like they were left out to sit too long or overheated. Enchiladas that we ordered were awful. They were bland and tasted burned. My husband and I both literally said at the same time, that they tasted horrible. They also had raw shredded onions on top as a garnish??? We were done after one bite each. We asked for them to be boxed up for our family to try because we were so bewildered as to how bad they tasted. We wanted to prove it to them, so they knew we were not exaggerating! I am not a mean person, I promise. I just hope that this establishment looks into hiring a new cook/chef for their own sake. Our server was not very attentive as well. Never refilled our water and we waited about 10 minutes or longer until we received coke that we ordered when we initially sat down. We did not share with our server that we disliked our meal because we just wanted to get out of there. It was our first experience here and our last.
This place is amazing. Drinks were on freaking point and the food is top-notch. Never disappoints. If you're thinking about going here for any type of Mexican/latin cuisine, do it. You won't regret it. Guaranteed. Now if you have more time, I'll get into more detail stating why I enjoy ox and Stone as much as I do.First off, the drinks. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about anything agave. When they have an option on their menu that allows the bartender to make you a drink on the spot based on your preferences, that's how you know a place is confident in their employees' talent. Tonight was not the first night I've been to ox and Stone, but it was definitely the most fun. My girlfriend and I came in for her birthday drinks and we sat at the bar. Mark took care of us most of the night and he was absolutely beyond fantastic. He engaged in conversation, joked around with us, shared stories, and entertained all of our needy demands for contrasting flights of interesting mezcal. He was fantastic. Someone you are happy to have as a bartender, and would be happier to have as a friend. Seriously. The dude has charisma. Also, so I don't forget, a Red haired woman named Emily took care of us at first when we came in and both the drinks she made were superb! I got a caipirinha my girlfriend got a naked and famous. She was extremely friendly and great! There was also a new bar back working that made me a mezcal old fashioned and he too was awesome. This place definitely knows how to pick their talent.Second, the food blows me away. Everything we eat here is consistently fantastic. Portions are great, and flavor is off the charts. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I go to a restaurant and I feel like I don't get my money's worth. I mean in the sense of quality or quantity. This place definitely delivers on both.I have an abundance of great things I can say about ox and stone, but if I can tell you anything at all, it is that you need to visit this place. One of the best in Rochester.
I've always enjoyed Ox & Stone for their creative cuisine and bar menu, so when searching for a fun venue with a private room for a wedding rehearsal dinner/welcome cocktail party I contact Ox & Stone. Working with their events team to put a deposit on the lovely Turret Room and to create a menu for food a drink was very simple. The staff at Swan Family Restaurants are always so kind and accommodating. Our guests enjoyed the food and a good time was had by all. I highly recommend Ox & Stone for a date night out or a private event!
Great food and the staff were very attentive!I I will definitely recommend the Ox & Stone.
We had a wonderful experience and the staff was absolutely amazing
