This is our go to place for special occasions. The food is always excellent and the service is great. Highly recommended!

Suitably busy for a Wed evening, attentive service, good cocktails, fresh oysters and the dry-aged NY strip steak were all tasty and nicely presented. Definitely a keeper!

The food was excellent and the service was really good. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back

Unfortunate experience- 6 tables seated and 5 of them turned over while we waited over 40 minutes for our entree after finishing our salads. Other than taking plates (and all our silverware without replacing) away, we had very little attention from a server with 1 other table. When our entrees finally came there were issues - 1 was lukewarm and the other incomplete, but at that point we had only 10 minutes before we needed to leave for a show. We had given ourselves 1 1/2 hours to dine and were the first table seated on opening that night.

Dining at Max of Eastman is a pleasure ANYTIME! Your senses are heightened by the superb menu choices, beautiful plating and exquisite tastes. The ambiance is lovely and comfortable. The kitchen and server staff are true professionals. A definite go to place that will NEVER disappoint .

The food was delicious and our server was wonderful!

This was a pre-concert (RPO) dinner. Unfortunately, they did not have a workable table for a party of four and we ended up sitting outside the main dining room, in the hall where the Rochester International Jazz Festival opening reception was happening. Very loud music and lots of non-restaurant guests made the evening somewhat awkward. The food was good. Excellent salmon and duck. OK soft shell crabs (the tempura batter needed more seasoning) and lovely risotto. Service was a tad slow, but our waitress was very attentive, trying to make up for the awkward seating. We will try again when things are less crazy there.

Upscale dining, yet managed to be informal and friendly. Several interesting menu choices such as oysters and soft-shell crabs. Not particularly expensive, either. A very civilized place to spend an evening with friends - tables well-separated, for example, and no loud music to distract you from the food or conversation. Definitely a keeper! Well done, everyone.

Love this place! Tony and Mary, the chefs and servers do everything possible to make the dining experience the absolute best for customers. It’s my favorite restaurant in Rochester and one that never disappoints
