Amazing sushi. The only thing to be aware of is that the online ordering estimate isn't super accurate, as they were only starting to make my order at the time the website said the order should be ready. Worth waiting an extra 10 minutes for though! And not a single mistake with our huge order, which has happened at other places too many times to count.
Everything about this experience is worth 5 stars, from the hardworking server, to the gracious and generous owner, and the well thought out menu. I ordered the calamari salad and it was the best prepared calamari I’ve ever had. I also ordered the gyoza which was not only juicy but flavorful too. The ramen I ordered was fantastic. It had perfectly cooked noodles and great flavor. It’s definitely a place I would come back to!
Amazing service! Our waitress handled all of our questions and requests super quick. The place is open, bright and inviting. The fish was very fresh and all of the appetizers were delicious. Ok you get my point, found our new fav sushi joint. I can't wait to try the ramen ?

Exceptional quality of ingredients, inspired recipes and very reasonable prices. I had given up on finding authentic quality sushi in Rochester but here it is! Our go to from now on. Check it out and tell your friends.

We both had their pork belly ramen, one with pork belly and the other with chicken. Also had the tuna tartare and the firecracker sushi roll. Everything was absolutely delicious!! Prices are pretty average as well. (Plus, their restaurant is connected to this building that has businesses and artwork that you can walk around and look at. Some of those businesses including wedding dress boutiques and a mountain bike shop.) This ramen shop was a really great choice for the night! Cute little hole in the wall place! Service was great and staff was very friendly. One of the other servers came up to us as we were finishing our food, mentioned the sake bottle we bought and we got to talking. She asked if we wanted to try a shot on the house of this certain kind of sake. It's made from a fruit that is banned from being shipped to the US (to keep diseases where they belong) but you can get the extract which is typically how they're able to make the sake. It was amazing! The chef himself saw we were trying it and said it was his favorite! Then, they gave us a rose with the check for Valentines! I thought it was romantic and adorable. Highly recommend going here!
Had to leave a review because it was amazing as always!! By far our favorite place to get sushi. Everyone at Maru is so kind, love supporting a family-run business. Our favorites are the sweet potato roll and the firecracker roll! The yellowtail sashimi starter also can’t be missed. Best in Rochester for freshness, service, and very well-chosen menu.

Great food, fresh and well prepared. Andy, the owner is very nice and clearly committed to his trade. This will be our go to sushi.
