We were seated quickly, our server asked about beverages and brought them right away. We were ready to order. The food arrived soon, and was hot and delicious! A win-win visit.
First time at Jay's & it was an awesome experience. The food selection & quality was on point but our waitress was "out of this world ". The nicest most genuine woman, who definitely knew how to make us feel so welconed & our business appreciated.We will definitely tell family & friends, actually we'll just invite them to our next awesome experience at Jay's.
Jay's has definitely gone downhill over the years. The food has gotten more lackluster, and a small orange juice was $4.They even managed to have toast that was simultaneously burned and too cold for the butter to really melt.10 years ago I'd really recommend the place, now I'd recommend going anywhere else.
Normally have a pleasant experience at this diner. Ordered the corned beef hash per usual, found a grey hair in the food. Waitress apologized, took my food back, got me a new plate. Found ANOTHER hair. Waitress was very nice about it, not blaming her. Hairnets would probably be beneficial for the kitchen staff. Wont eat here again for a long time. Didn’t charge us for my meal.
Went here for breakfast as suggested by my husband because it’s raved about all over websites in Rochester. First impression was ok it’s a diner so it’s going to be a little run down looking inside and out. The food was terrible! I ordered biscuits and gravy because It’s my favorite breakfast to make at home. I was expecting something amazing and ended up getting gravy that is clearly out of a jar and sausage that was mildly undercooked, The home fries were soggy not really edible in my opinion. My husband had the Chicago omelette, it was better than my order but again not the best. I would never recommend anyone eat here.
Great little diner near RIT's campus. They serve a wide variety of different foods, including a lot of breakfast items. I wouldn't say they have a specialty item I know them for. Food is good and cheap, staff is friendly and prompt.
been coming here for years on and off. the waitress was one of the best waitresses I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with even though she forgot our sampler platter LOL not really a big deal though because we could barely finish our food

Don’t bother asking for crispy home fries or crisp bacon. Two strikes guys. At least the bacon wasn’t raw like the last time.
