During a crazy time of postponed weddings and COVID regulations, we are so glad to have planned our wedding with the Historic German House. Our original wedding was planned for January of 2022. Given the COVID situation at the time, we made the difficult decision to postpone. The staff at the German House were completely amazing and helpful in getting everything rearranged. Even before the postponement, we loved working with every one at the Historic German House in planning our special day. We were able to hold our wedding on April 2, 2022 and each and every one of our guests said how much they loved the venue and the people working there. It was incredibly beautiful and the management and staff are some of the kindest people we had the pleasure of working with.
We had our baby shower here and all I can say is it was AMAZING! Amanda, Jessica and Chris (owner) walked us through every step and made this small celebration beautiful and quaint. The space is beautiful and they work with you to make it a dream come true.
I haven't been back since my wedding reception. They did not disappoint and the food was amazing. This was an event with a lot of dietary needs and they knocked it out of the park. If you want to have an event in a great location with great food this is where you need to be.
Amanda and the staff at the German House were INCREDIBLE from day 1 of planning until we picked things up a few days later. Amanda was really supportive while we tried to plan a COVID wedding...she was helpful at every turn, and the whole thing turned out great.
As a bride who spent five plus years in the wedding industry, it was important to find a venue that was a one-stop-shop, and The Historic German House checked all of the boxes. Not only were all tables, chairs, linens, china, cutlery, and glassware included in the venue fee, but you book one of their preferred caterers directly through them. We chose to book Folk Catering because, hello, Vern's, Roux, and all Swan Family Restaurants are amazing. On top of all this, you get the attentive Amanda and Chris to help you with all your planning, from signature cocktails to coordinating when your vendors make their deliveries on your wedding day.I cannot say enough good things about the service at The HGH, or its beauty! Prior to my wedding day, my memories of HGH were dimly lit concerts in the early 2000s. The TLC put into restoring this building is clear, and the tasteful Christmas decorations during December make this the perfect venue for any holiday event!All photos associated with this review were captured by Alexandra Elise Photography.
We got married this past November at the Historic German House after postponing for Covid & it was worth the wait!! Amanda & Chris were great to work with- really responsive and accommodating. The day went off without a hitch & if a single thing went wrong.. we didn't know about it. Their staff was wonderful and we got so many compliments. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beautifully renovated little slice of history right in downtown Rochester!
Our daughter and her fiancée held their reception at the Historic German House. Oh my, what a lovely day they had! Amanda was so incredible to work with. She took care of so many details and smooth transitions on the day of the event. We highly recommend this venue. Such charm.
Me and my husband decided to plan our entire wedding in 2 months and Amanda, the wedding coordinator with the Historic German House made the whole process easy and stress free. She always went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and to make sure we didn’t do more work than we had to. The venue itself is so beautiful and truly magical. We recently moved to Rochester and the Historic German House immediately caught our eye while walking in the beautiful south wedge neighborhood. This place is unforgettable, and having an amazing staff made it a million times better!! They have an amazing suite to get ready in as well that I used for my bridal party and it was so much fun! Everybody including ourselves had the best time of our lives the day of our wedding and I am just so so happy with the outcome. None of it would’ve been possible without Amanda, so seriously huge shoutout to her for just making my dream wedding seem so easy and stress-free!
