I was in Rochester for business , I’ve been traveling outside the US for sometime and really wanted some American soul food. I cannot express how this food hit every spot . I was in Rochester 7 days and ate here 3 or 4 days . I tried a variety of dishes and each one was spot on. They told me the cakes are made by an elderly lady and she definitely has the real recipe.I’m hungry writing this review and will definitely grab my plate for the plane ride home..:customer service was spot on and every dish was on point. Prices clearly marked and they were very large portions ..wish them years of success .

Make sure your order before you leave. I got the Teriyaki Steak & Shrimp. It wasn't how it looked like in the photos I saw before I bought it and was way less food. The rice was undercooked and had hard pieces that hurt when chewing them. The shrimp and steak were tough. I had the ribs when I ordered here before and they were good but I can't recommend going here.
When I say everything is absolutely great. You have to eat it yourself to experience it. We love it.
food was disgusting, I ordered smothered pork chops and I literally got a fried pork chop with gravy on top with plain non flavored rice. smothered pork chops need to be cooked down, not just thrown together. I literally seen her scrape the gravy from the pan and put it in a cup to go re-cook the food. I'm not sure of what she did with the gravy but it was already paid for and I GAVE THE PLACE A CHANCE SINCE IT WAS A NEW SPOT. SMH JUST SAY THERES NOMORE AND ILL ORDER SOMETHING ELSE. NEVER AGIAN!

So I asked a question don't I get two sides with my steak and shrimp I was told no when it's clearly on the board where what's serving today is other than that the Mac ok the collard greens weren't what I would of thought they were tasted like canned good collard greens the beef ribs had more fat than meat and bigger bones than fat and meat I payed for two dinner came up too 38 dollars for fat and bones and canned collard greens my girlfriend loved her food she even saved some for lunch the next day she had a totally different dinner than I. No stars customer service was poor from the worker not the young man or the lady owner she never spoke .
If you're looking for down home country cooking with all the fat and wonderful calories then this is the place. I go when I want some good old fashion fried chicken mac and cheese and collard greens with sweet potatoes ???when I say worth it...it's SOOOO worth it.
Food was good ladies was cool as well no complaints.
