Disappointing Dosa--very much overdone, almost burnt, and to tough to tear off pieces. needed a knife. Samosas were so oily that it ran down my arm when I picked one up to take a bite.
This was by far my best dining experience on a long time. The owner of this restaurant made me feel as if I was having dinner with my family at home in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was great. If you are in Rochester and have the opportunity to dine out, I would highly recommend this place and hopefully you will have the same great experience.
Our go to place for Indian food. Since they changed management a while back, my only real issue with this restaurant has been resolved. The spiceiness of the food used to be hit or miss, but whatever changes were made corrected this issue. Now, we know that our orders will be the appropriate spice level each time. The pictures don't do the restaurant justice. It's absolutely beautiful in there. And the staff is highly attentive and professional. Great spot for a date night.
This restaurant has a great ambiance coupled with awesome food and service. We stopped in for dinner and had an excellent experience. Staff was awesome and very friendly.
had the best biryani and mango lassi ever.
I am giving three stars for two reasons. One there was only one person in the entire restaurant working and two he was entirely on the phone during the entirety of my dining experience. Right from the time I walked in to sitting down to getting served to paying the check he never left the phone. Including attending to other guests. It's possible that he was still doing his job but that does not go unnoticed. As a result he was not interested in serving. Served my food and placed my bill while on the phone. On the other hand the food was outstanding!!. I ordered a goat Curry and rice and it was perfectly cooked, tender and mild. I was disappointed with the quality of the rice and its presentation. That should be a getaway for him as just for the food I may return.
The staff would suggest that it's spicy, but it's barely mild.Momos and bhel are the 2 things which are good. Rest everything would be a mediocre experience if you're accustomed to Indian cuisineThey also tend to bring the main course before the appetizers which just seems bizarre
Person who manages this place is very rude and arrogant. We were asked to wait when the whole place was empty not sure why. When we made a special request to have kids meal order taken ahead, it was straight away rejected. We were rushed to order food with most of the things we wanted were not available. If you are in hurry to close then change the timings don’t rush customers. They forgot our drinks, which were served after reminding and towards end of the dinner. Will not go again.
To call this Indian food would be a crime in itself. The only good thing is bhel. Rest every single thing is trash. The veg biryani was a foul smelling heap of mixed spices and probably leftover rice. Save your money order and from some place else.Wish I could give it 0 stars
FOOD PREPARATION AND HYGIENE ISSUES… EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK….!!!!!!We were very disappointed with our one (and only) order of food at Amayas. On my arrival to pick up our food, the restaurant employee was on the phone discussing a complaint with a customer as well as offering a fully comped next meal. That should have been my first warning. I took our take-out order home and upon opening the first box of rice, found hair throughout the rice as can be seen in the photos. We promptly threw out the food as this does not indicate that the food was prepared in a hygienic fashion. I then called the restaurant to inform them about the disgusting state of our food and was told there was no way there was any hair in the food and that I needed to drive back to prove it. They would not accept pictures and required us to drive back…??? They would not comp our meal and questioned we would not eat the rest of the meal after finding hair in items. This is absolutely unacceptable and I highly encourage you to avoid this restaurant as they obviously cannot prepare food in a clean environment nor do they respond appropriately to legitimate complaints.
