When Barrow first opened, they had a great thing going for them. Great food, awesome vegan options and a fun, scrumptious, savory menu with a great wait staff. Over time, the quality and quantity of food has suffered as their name and presence became known. Less than 6 months ago, I ordered my favorite meal, the curry bowl. Disappointed that even then, the pricing was climbing disproportionality with its portion size and quality now decreasing at a high rate. The pitas that accompanied this meal had been cut in half. Today, after 6 months of not stopping in, I tried it again, figuring they would be back in action with great fervor after having recently reopened for the season. Two meals ordered: my favorite curry bowl and a burger, cost me $47.00 take out. Shocked as I was at the price, what was more shocking was the smaller sized bowl HALF filled with white rice. A completely dry meal that now lacked flavor, sauce and left me convinced, that I would rather make my own than pay for such a terrible meal, hardly recognizable from what it started out to be when they opened. I will not be going back.
The best hamburger I ever had. It's a different kind of experience in that you order at the counter and then take your food and sit wherever you want. This lends itself to thinking it's fast food but it is anything but. The staff is very friendly and you actually get to watch them cook your food if you want to. Check it out you will not be disappointed.

Love coming out to Riverhead to take part in all the fall activities, but when you've been on the go, moving from apple picking, pumpkin picking, hay rides and every other activity you can think of, Barrow Food House is the place to be! Great for any adult, and kid friendly as well! Mind you, the kids menu is actually good enough for the adults, just saying. So when you're out having a good time with the family and not quite sure where to go for quick bite, Barrows Food House should be the first one on your mind.

There are so many better options on the North Fork . Owner had quite an attitude when a variation of a dish was requested. Totally not worth the visit.
Stopped for lunch as we had never been here. Order at the counter place. Basically furnished. But we came for the food which turned out to be very good. Good butternut squash soup. Good curry bowl. But prices were way too high considering the type of restaurant. (As an aside, this was our first time here and we passed it by at first because the signage was small.)
Absolutely loved our food and can’t wait to go back !!
