The owner is very personable. They grow their veggies and some fruits ?. The food was great. Very well priced for what you getting. Would eat there again. Maybe this time I'll actually bring my husband

The food was very good ..... The waitress was not so good we waited like 10 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink and get a menu. Otherwise the food very good and a nice quaint place for a bite to eat.

Friendly, welcoming, great food, good quantity. Veri impressed by such an out of the way little diner.

Great food excellent service and superb prices. So friendly I'll be back....?

Excellent staff, The BEST CARROT CAKE & STRAWBERRY RHUBARB PIE!! Cozy family atmosphere. Very very affordable prices! Will definitely be a regular as much as I can!!

Maybe I just went on an off day.. I was excited to bring two of my.kids here.. my 15 year old loves burgers and I thought yes! Farm to table. Perfect!I did pass it the first time since it is set back, there was an open flag by the road but I didn't see signs for Dix Ave Diner. We pulled in, noticed they seem to be doing construction outside, it is small inside but I do like the charm of small eateries. The gentleman ( who also served us) was nice enough to grab a booster for my 10 month old.My 15 year old ate his burger right up, the size of burger was decent. I ordered mac and cheese for my 10 month old. Kind of disappointed he told me it was kraft. I just expected more.. maybe regular noodles with homemade Mac and cheese.I also ordered a cheeseburger. The food was decent, the service was lacking. I waited more than several minutes, (it wasn't busy) for silverware and finally just got some off another table. The gentleman did see and apologized but I also noticed dirty tables while the gentleman was talking to another man at the counter for a very long time.. and not tending to what needed to be cleared at tables nor attending to guests for basic things wait staff normally would right awayProbably won't go again.

Great homemade food! Soups are fresh, sandwiches are made mostly with local ingredients. Staff is friendly. Try it you'll like it!

Their heart is definitely in the right place. They have a wonderful vision of farm to table food and they grow their own greens right outside the restaurant which is admirable. However, I got some deep fried things like chicken fingers, cheese sticks, onion rings, french fries. The coating had no flavor at all. They could really do well to spice up their breading recipe. Also, the whole plate of fried things was very much overcooked so that the breading and fries were very dark brown, just short of burned. My companion got the fish and chips but she said they were nothing special. Again, I think spicing up the breading recipe would help here. They are positioned to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to be special. They just need to step outside the box and take some chances with flavors and offerings, and to be more attentive in the kitchen.

I had a Great American hot dog, which boast, " a cheese filled bacon wrapped hotdog." $4 is a little pricey, but it sounded too good, I'd splurge. I'd probably pay that at a fair anyway. Normally, the side is chips, but, again I splurged for an up charged order of hand cut fries (worth it!) The only concern I had about ordering this sumptuous treat was the bacon prep. I like bacon, but, rarely is it crispy enough for my taste. Which is why I bypass any bacon adorned dish. Most of the time, it's a let down. I explained that I preferred it cooked extra crispy, and if it wasn't possible, I understand, but would prefer just to go with the meat sauce topped hot dog. It came to me exactly as I requested. I'm so happy I tried it, and happy to have sampled the food here. I'm a foodie, good food can be challenging to find. A great chef/cook pays attention to the little details , and it makes a huge difference in quality and taste. I know hot dogs and fries aren't exactly gourmet, but they absolutely can be messed up. I recommend giving this place a try. Although I won't indulge in the delicious Great American hot dog all too often, there are plenty of healthy alternatives available. Thank-you Dix Ave dinner for my amazing lunch. It satisfied all my cravings.

Nice place. Very small, but good seating arrangements. Food was very good.
