A wonderful restaurant. Atmosphere is so nice. Food is amazing. Service is very good.

I ordered party plater sushi. Sushi rolls tast terrible, rice not cooked and quality of rice isn't good not a sushi rice. I don’t know about other food they serve but it is not a place for sushi.

I ordered the Sushi for 2, Dancing Eel Roll, Out of Control Roll and the Chicken Satay skewers for a last-minute Valentines surprise dinner for my wife. While the order was ready for pick up within 20 minutes (whereas other Sushi restaurants nearby were super busy and couldn’t fulfill any orders within a 2 hour window,) this would be the only positive aspect of the ZEN experience. The most disappointing part aside from the dry, rubbery chicken skewers, was the Sushi for 2 platter. The presentation was typical and offered nothing special and that’s ok, but the sushi needs to convey that they know what they’re doing. In NYC, you have your authentic Japanese sushi chefs and then you have your non-Japanese employees whose job is to put fish on top of rice and call it sushi. Zen is of the latter variety. The RICE WAS AT LEAST A DAY OLD. As Asians, biting down into hard rice is an absolutely horrible experience. Zen served us crunchy rice rolled underneath pieces of fish and tried to pass it off as “Sushi.” While the other two rolls were probably made to order and tasted alright, the sushi platter was probably pre-made since the order was ready within 20 minutes. That is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I would never go back here again and will make sure to warn others not to go either. It was really a terrible experience overall but we stayed positive and enjoyed dessert to salvage the dinner.

The restaurant service is very good, the food is delicious, there is a combination of Chinese and Japanese food

I just came here with my family. The place has a really cute aesthetic but the food was not flavorful. And the portion sizes were small. The sizzling beef tasted really good tho. But do not try the Thai tea

A lot could be improved here. Everything was average. Staff wasn't too attentive despite being 1 of 2 tables occupied. The food was below average, the drink menu was limited on our visit. The prices were acceptable but in my opinion overpriced. The ambiance was a bit dull. Idk if I'd visit again.

Decent food, but HORRIBLE service and staff are very unprofessional. Every time I go to pick up my order, there's never anyone up front at the host station and Im forced to wait a long time for someone to finally realize that I'm waiting for assistance. Today I tried going there for lunch, and again no one was at the host station. There was a few staff who were at one table eating and one asked if I wanted to order, I said yes. They immediately started arguing in another language about which one of them was going to take my order. I stood there quietly for a few minutes waiting for help and when I tried signaling the guy, who asked if I wanted to order, he just shouted towards the back for someone to come. No one ever came to assist me and I just walked out. If this is how they behave in front of the customer then I shutter to think what goes on in the behind the scenes in the kitchen.

This place is AMAZING! The food was great I've never had salmon skin salad and it won't be the last. Staff was courteous and friendly. This place is well worth the trip regardless of what borough you live in. You won't be disappointed ?
