Went here for date night on Saturday night. The place was pleasantly crowded and we had no problem getting a seat. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. The chicken parmesan and papardelle ragu were pretty good and just the right portions. A classic neighborhood Italian spot.
Delicious food. My wife and I make a point to go there every year to have the lamb shank. However the menu is very pricy and the pours are every light not in fit with the neighborhood and atmosphere.
Memorable for the wrong reasons. Staff was very nice but not quite knowledgeable. After asking for a white wine, a red wine by the bottle was sold to us (which, while enjoyable, wasn't what we truly wanted). The bottle was listed as $88 on the wine list but when the check was dropped, was charged as $100. May have not been intentional, but it felt like a bait-and-switch and no one is a fan of that. Food was entirely forgettable. I'm sure it would be nice as a last-minute date night but the wine list not being updated with corrected prices really turned me and the rest of my party from returning.
If you have kids don't even think about visiting this restaurant. On the weekend my husband and I with my seven month old baby in a stroller decided to have lunch at this place. I went inside the restaurant with a stroller, but there was no one there, neither visitors nor serving staff, after 10 minutes a waiter appeared and didn’t want to let us into the restaurant because there was a sign on the door " no enter "with a stroller, then I politely asked to provide a high chair for baby but he answered that they don’t have high chairs and we can’t be with a child in a restaurant, and took us outdoor sitting with the plastic enclosure and it was freezing there, because they didn't provide any hitting, but after 5 minutes the waiter came and said that the owner did not allow to sit with stroller even in this cold plastic-covered place.Thank God we left this restaurant and right away we discovered beautiful, cozy, warm, welcoming place, where we were met by a friendly staff of the restaurant, they not only provided a high chair but also allowed us to enter with a stroller. By the way, the food was so delicious. If you have kids I recommend " Trattoria l'incontro" go to this restaurant and enjoy spending time with the family.
I recommend the salcciza pizza and the goat cheese beet salad with a twist. I really liked the Level of the music that allows you to enjoy it and be able to talk without having to shout.
I was craving their homemade pasta and lamb shank, it was DEVINE! I’m glad to see they haven’t lost “the touch”. I was away for about a year and missed this place; one of the best places in Astoria.
Everything was superb definitely a place to go food was delicious staff was great ?
Last Sunday my wife and I went to my favorite place in the Astoria area. I took a guest from NJ and told him about this restaurant, when we arrived the waiter Rigoberto did not let us in because I was going with my 2-year-old daughter in a stroller and she is Asleep, I told him that when she woke up I would ask for a high chair, despite the restaurant being almost empty only two table seated, it was around 2:30pm, I wanted to talk to the manager and he told me that there is no manager, that everyone is in charge and he would not let us in. I really liked Vía Trenta but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired, lack of common sense and no empathy for their customers in certain circumstances
This is an amazing restaurant! The ingredients are all very fresh, the atmosphere is nice, the service is fast, and the meals are wonderful. Great for parties and occasions!
Great food and service, I didn't ask the waitress name but she was amazing with beautiful personality. Thank you ?
