This place has an extensive menu and it’s a nice cozy space. It’s very popular with families and large groups and for good reason. With that said, I was disappointed with my visit. This was never my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood but I was craving it so decided to stop in.I’ve ordered delivery a few times and it was a bit lack luster from what I remember this place being pre pandemic but thought it would be much better to dine in since takeout can compromise quality.I understand that the pandemic and inflation means businesses have to raise prices which I have no issue with if quality is maintained. It’s so expensive for what you are getting now. Produce did not taste very fresh and while the meats are always cooked well, they’ve been under seasoning and skimping on sauce and other ingredients lately. The wait staff also didn’t seem very informed on the menu items and it just seemed a little off when the waiter literally threw the check holder on the table.I wouldn’t refuse to come if someone wanted to eat there the food isn’t offensively bad, just mediocre. I left thinking about how I just spent money on that rather than the meal. I personally won’t come back because it’s just so blatant how the management wants to squeeze every cent from their customers in an almost disrespectful way. Lower quality food plus now they are saying they don’t serve tap water you must buy bottled and a 2.5% debit and credit card fee (technically against NYS law at that) tacked on top it’s just really tacky.
Their food tasted great. The whole staff was in a good mood, smiling & providing amazing customer service! Would definitely go here again
I got a shawarma wrap, definitely wasn’t a hit. It was very dry. I’ve expected some type of garlic sauce to be tossed on the chicken before rolled up. But the chicken was bland. The fries on the other hand was good and crispy.
Always great quality Turkish food! Never let me down once! Thank you!
This place is the best when enjoyed at the restaurant. Not recommended for delivery! Its a hit or miss with delivery. I have ordered from Truva easily over 40 times. Sometimes they send you fresh food and then sometimes it tastes like it's been sitting out. But when they get things right it's a great experience ! Its my go to Turkish restaurant in Astoria. They really raised their prices as well. This place isn't affordable at all compared to other Turkish restaurants in Queens.
The lunch special was amazing for the price and the portions they gave you. was unbelievable soup the meal and drink under $18 haven't seen this in years. And of course great taste.
One of the few places I trust in terms of food quality and service. I’ve been going there for years and I highly recommend the place.
As a customer for over 6 years, this was my last time here. Truva has become a terrible place for the value and especially customer service. Beef platter shown in the photo is $24 but portion size is so small! Their prices increased insanely after pandemic for no better reason than that they can. They charge for water & for every other little thing you ask for. I asked for 2 sides of salad and they gave me small portion size for the price. I asked for more salad and was given attitude about it from server. The worst part was when the check came, they placed a service charge for 4 people! I took a look at the menu & it was not written there. I’ve been in the restaurant business before & the minimum number of people needed to add a service charge is 6. That was a bad move from you guys, shame on you. When confronted with why she added that, she said it’s been that way for 2 years. I’ve been here just 2 weeks ago with NO service charge & have been a customer longer than their server employees have been working there. She proceeded to say that even if she removes the service charge it would be the same price with the tip. Tip is never mandatory & it’s up to US to decide how much you get depending on the service we have received. To management: if you have any backbone & care about customers who made your business in the first place, I strongly advise you to invest in intensive customer service training for your employees because they are lacking.
This place used to be good and then went downhill completely once they became popular. Not sure if the management changed. If you’re in a group of 6 or more, the service is horrendous because there’s an automatically 18% gratuity placed on the bill. I’ve had better service here with a group of 2 people in comparison to 6+ people. They also rush you because seating is limited.I dislike how they serve you bottled water instead of tap when you ask for water. Seems like they try every trick to get more money for subpar food and service.I think the restaurant is only popular because there’s limited halal places that are nice enough to dine in the area. I used to bring out of town guests here but not anymore. I would much rather spend my money on a local business that’s more ethical with better service.
I was taken here for my birthday from my brother and can't wait to go back i loved the food I usually order the lamb gyro its great only thing is even when I order large it still looks kinda small other than that love it here!
