Worst experience today!! I've been coming here for more than 23 years and the service has gone down hill lately under new ownership. We arrive at 9:10pm at the entrance and the owner (see picture) stopped eating with food still on her lips and rushed towards us and yelled "We close at 10 and you guys come so late! You better sit down and quickly order." with an very unpleasant facial expression and attitude. We turned around and left the place immediately, we are not coming back here EVER again and you should reconsider. It's a shame because the last owner was wonderful. There are literally 20 restaurants nearby so it's not worth the unpleasantness..
Cash only but worth it. I really like it here and the dishes are really authentic/reasonably priced. The service is fast both for wait staff and food coming out. Place always has at least one customer and is clearly popular. You can order in English or Mandarin. The tea is really nice too. My friend and Taiwanese mother love this place.
BEST Taiwanese food in the area!! Been going here for a while now and it never disappoints. Flavor? Price? Service? Option? They have it all. I highly recommend the Crispy Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Braised Pork Rice, and basically everything lol. Everything is really authentic and most of the dish are like $5 - $15 per plate. I love this place, idk, should definitely check it out if you're looking for some good Taiwanese cuisine.
Best dining out experience I’ve had in awhile. Had the fly heads, sautéed pea greens, and the fried chicken. All were amazing, but the fried chicken was the best I have had in awhile. It had great seasoning, an interesting sweetness to it, and the herbs on top were a nice touch. The staff were friendly. Will definitely come back
Normally I don’t do 1 star review, but I think it would be good just to provide one data point. The food is authentic, but the overall experience and service was not worth your tips. I don’t think I’ll revisit here although I’m Taiwanese. The service was rude, and I am surprised that I felt a bit discriminated from the elder waitress. It was probably because I was with my boyfriend, who is a white guy, the waitresses thought I couldn’t understand mandarin and spoke something behind us.All in all, if you do not mind having poor service, can ignore my review, but if you do want to have a good service, you can find a better place to enjoy the meal.
Very tasty food. Friendly staff. No frills place. We got Crispy chicken which was crunch but not dry or greasy. Black peper short rib, which was awesome. And a oyster pancake, which my partner did not like , it was ok to me but I dont need to order it again.
Authentic Taiwanese food. Fried pork chop is my favorite dish. Fried pig intestines is okay but not so recommended to others. Will try more dishes next visit!
When you see the sticky table top and restroom floor, you know the meal would be good. Down memory lane, it’s a place you go with your parents after school. Unlike other not-so-authentic Taiwanese food, the spices don’t overpower the ingredients. Some would say everything is mild, which I can’t say it’s not true, but it’s delicately balanced Taiwanese food. You can only find it around the corner in your childhood hometown and apparently this place as well.
Had a good dinner this night. We were lucky to have gotten the last available table as they were packed. We had ordered escargot in basil and found it tasteful even though it was spicy. Or course we had some fried pork chop, a must! Go and enjoy your food dining in! They have a huge menu that I will explore more in the future.
I admire this Taiwanese restaurant very much. Foods are very nice service is great and reasonable price. I would recommend this restaurant ; P
