Genuine Sichuan spicy food with a great vibe. Waiters were kind and gave menu suggestions. Pickled fish is so delicious and juicy that my girlfriend took the remaining portion. Overall it’s a good restaurant with decent food.

We came here with a couple of friends. Pretty decent food and very nice decor. Our favorite dish is the hand shredded cabbage. The duck head was very spicy. And the fish soup was extra sour. It was strange they served tea in paper cups and the small cold app in a take out container.

WORTH THE HYPE! Spicy shrimp, spicy noodles and spicy cabbage. An unexpected combo, but so very good. Props to my friend for being a bigger foodie then me!

A really great restaurant in every way.Be sure to order the swinging porkbelly. It looks fun, tastes good and is quite filling, we're talking about pure fat here. The menu offers really great dishes. The ambiance here is really nice.

Liked the decor of the restaurant, feels like modern and old style mixed to create the vibe. The food was pretty good esp for anyone that loves garlic. All the food had so much garlic and lots of chili oil and red Szechuan peppers (in the name of the restaurant itself ofcourse). Literally more peppers than chicken in the LaZi Chicken order ?I’d order the cauliflower and eggplant and the noodles again if I were to go back.Probably not the healthiest food since even the vegetarian options had so much oil in it but everything (except for the mapo tofu in my opinion that I didn’t like) was great although my friends did enjoy the mapo tofu. The servers were very quick and attentive. I think the bill was decent for the amount of order we placed.

No doubt people consistently rank Szechuan Mountain House as the best Szechuan style restaurant in New York. As always, excellent customer service and great food. Best SOUR Cabbage and Fish Soup I ever had. The Swing Pork Belly is something I always order every time when I'm here, not just for the look/display but the savory flavor. strongly recommend this place.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since it’s opening; they’re always consistent in service and food. It is authentic Szechuan cuisine so if you can’t handle spicy, look elsewhere, otherwise, this is spicy lovers heaven. This place gets busy during dinners and weekends, but if you come early for lunch or on a weekday, you’ll get a seat easily. They use to have free sweet mung bean soup after your meal, but haven’t seen that recently. Ordered the ice jelly, but was $7, BUT very well worth it after salty, spicy, and oily food. 5/5 stars for being my favorite Szechuan restaurant in New York.

Yummy yummy Szechuan food! Really tasty good with a mala kick. The jiang stew fish is really good and so are the stir fried Chinese long beans. Nice atmosphere with complimentary tea. It was pretty busy at lunchtime on a weekend. Will definitely be back!
