I was craving a sandwich and I stopped by this place. It's a typical Italian pork store. I believe their biggest customers come for sandwiches. Very old-school feel . You generally have to walk up to the glass counter and say how you doin! lol I'll have a (insert)sandwich. The godfather sandwich is good but for $14 the sandwich shop sal chris and charlie has them beat in terms of quantity. Their sandwich can't be consumed in 1 sitting. You eat that in 2 days
I came with a friend to compare notes on Sorriso. They had been mentioned in a thread I made about Sal, Kris, and Charlie's last week so I had to check them out! Sorriso has been around for 43 years. So by now they are a neighborhood fixture. Now, what to order, what to eat? My friend ordered a chicken cutlet hero. I ordered the Italian Mumbo -salami, artichokes hearts, mozzarella and red peppers. They have a signature sandwich, the Famous Godfather fully loaded (lettuce, tomato, onions, oregano and balsamic vinegar on a hero), however I did not order it. We were both offered a couple of slices of mild salami, which was excellent and I was tempted to order a whole salami sausage. Each sandwich hero is approx. 12 inches long, but not overwhelming. We had no problems fitting them into the fridge this time
Have been ordering sandwiches from Sorriso for years - digging their pepper and egg and potato croquettes. Popped in to the location recently for the first time and was blown away by the Italian grocery selection and the fantastic customer service. Will continue to order and swing by whenever I can.
When you’re looking for original Italian products at reasonable prices this is the place to go to. They are very nice and friendly. Just don’t go there in a rush….
This is a friendly, old school, cash only, Italian market. They sell meats, sandwiches, canned goods and cooked food behind the glass. The sandwiches are very good.
We love Sorriso's! The guys there are so super sweet and nice and we love their sandwiches so much. We also dig their homemade tomato sauce and sausages. Highly recommend!!!
Best Italian deli and grocery in Astoria. They are finally on seamless too.
I've been going to this Deli / Butcher shop for 30 years the absolute best around. Home made soprasotta and Buffalo cheddar are my favorite along with many others made with Love. Quality and an excellent staff to top it off .You've tried the rest now try the best I can't say enough about this place trust me they're number 1
