Owners, Chef and crew are the best and the food was fantastic! We had the mix grill and the Mediterranean salad. They were quick, but we were not rushed; great service. Everything was perfect after a long day. We will be back!
Yummy food and good service. Especially enjoyed the Turkish sausage pide (pictured) and the creamy red lentil soup. The portions are large- my friend got a gyro and it was a huge.
Sophra 2 is too good!! Incredible food that is not only fresh and delicious, but authentic! Don’t leave without trying the fig pudding. The owners are incredibly kind and really care about the customers. Service is amazing as well. Best Turkish in in LIC (and NYC) !!!
The food was so delicious and everyone was incredibly friendly. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood food scene!
Very good new Turkish restaurant in LIC. Friendly staff with variety of great dishes. Good mediterranean option in the area. Definitely will be back.
We REALLY enjoyed the red lentil soup! I had the mixed doner platter with lamb, chicken, rice and salad. My partner just had the chicken doner. Both were excellent. You may walk past this place and not think about it- but you’d be making a mistake. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and we will be back!
Owner is super nice. Knowing what is the best in the restaurant and made a great recommendation. Lamb with rice is amazing. Will do another visit!
AMAZING MEDITERRANEAN FOOD!Service: 10/10 - the employees here are welcoming, so kind, and very attentive! The wait time is little, and even for the food it came out very quickly.Food: 1000/10 mouthwatering, freshly made - tastes like it just came off the grill. The bread was so so soft & freshly made and I loved the mixed appetizer dish: it was worth getting & sharing. The chicken shish is the entree my boyfriend & I shared and it was enough to feed two even with leftover. The chicken was sosososo tender and juicy. There were many many dessert options (rice pudding / almond pudding / tiramisu / baklava / kofte (sp?)) BUT so happy I tried the FIG PUDDING! First time having fig pudding and it was the best pudding I've ever had.Ambience: Inside is very romantic and intimate. On Valentine's Day there was mini candles, red napkins, teddy bears - very cute!Everything feels homemade and delicious. The hardworking employees were a bonus! Come here with a friend family or date! My first time here was definitely phenomenal and I'm most certainly coming back!
The owners and staff are incredibly kind and the food was absolutely delicious. So excited for this new spot in LIC- we will definitely be back!We had the babaganoush to start which was perfectly smoky and the bread was freshly baked. The iskandar was excellent as was the lamb adana. We were also so lucky to get the opportunity to try some fig pudding which was the perfect way to end the meal- not too sweet, just right. Cant wait to come back and try the pide next time.
15 years of living, loving and growing as a family in LIC. We are big foodies and discovering and sharing food is an essential part of our lives. The past years have been pretty disappointing for new openings on Vernon. These dark times are over, thanks to this new Turkish place. So to be truthful we were a little hesitant at the beginning after having seen the place evolving from an all time favorite Chinese take out (I hated it ?) to a pastrami place (did not make it either) and then a Turkish cuisine ? Wow. We were indeed intrigued, so to make it short we could hardly believe how great this new concept was.It is down to earth (so don't except fancy service or dining atmosphere) but still charming. The owners are not only lovely they are both hands on to make you feel welcomed and special (as we agreed totally family style ) and last but not least (most important and amazing part) the food is amazing! Every single item on the menu we tried is just right. Special mention for me for the lamb gyro sandwich (first time I ate one in NYC that is not dead dried and tasteless), the mezes are perfect (especially with the homemade bread that feelsLike a trip to Istanbul) and the Turkish pizza a family favorite already. After our 5th visit and us living a block away we can definitely recommend it warmly!Last thing we do not do takenout but it is totally worth experiencing at site.
