It’s a good Turkish restaurant around this neighborhood. The food was good and the people over here are really friendly.We took the calamari fry as appetizer and it was okay. Not exceptionalWe took the mixed grill platter and everyone loved the kebabs in it. There was a weekend special lamb leg. It didn’t go with our taste bud that much.At last we ordered the Kunafe as dessert. Since they make it fresh so it took a long time to serve.
Hands down one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I’ve ever been too. Everything on point from the lamb and chicken to the drinks and desserts. 100% would recommend and would go again. Service was perfect, quick and accommodating.
It's disappointing being given a short wait time for take out and waiting double that time without any indication or updates from the host/manager. I understand food takes time to make, but at the very least, be courteous enough to acknowledge me when I inquire about my order. Don't dismiss me with a wave of your hand and not even look at me when I'm trying to speak to you. Even more insulting is to hand me my food without looking at or speaking a single word to me.Despite this terrible experience, I will say the Turkish bread was good. The falafel appetizer, including the hummus and salad it came with, were over-salted. The chicken in my sandwich was somewhat dry.Additionally, I saw other people order in takeout after me and they received their food first, despite them ordering similar items. Definitely going to take my money to other establishments, maybe they'll do the bare minimum and acknowledge my presence after I pay for my food.
People seemed friendly enough. Portion size was fine, but the food was lacking in just basic flavor, without even an ounce of salt in any of the food. Maybe it was because we ordered for pick up, instead of eating in, but It was a huge letdown after ordering so much for my parents anniversary. We couldn’t even eat much of it.
I have tried a few of the Turkish restaurants in sunny side but Sofra exceeds them in terms of taste. We ordered Sofra special grill. Food tasted real good and the quantity was more than enough for two. We were served complimentary tea in the end. Staff is courteous. Highly recommended. Would visit again.

This review is from the dinner I once had about 3 years ago. I have eaten their take out and it is very delicious as well but dining there is magical because there is a bread oven in their open kitchen. I love their sampler with item hits like hummus and ganoush and it comes with breads.
We ordered food for new years eve and was excited to try it because the owner used to work at the other place we frequented when we lived in Sunnyside. The place has great reviews but the food doesn't reflect that. We were quite disappointed. The kebabs were hard and dry. The babaganous and hummus were pretty good. Bread was ok. For the price, it wasn't worth it. There are other Turkish spots with better food.
Horrible experience with staff and online order. I placed an online order with sofra and after a 20 minute trip to the restaurant, they handed me a bag with only 1 out of 4 items. When I questioned about the missing items they spent another 20 minute looking into the issue and they said it was a price mistake and took the bag away from me. The whole fact they gave me an incomplete order was they already knew it was a mistake yet they didn’t inform me ahead of time before i wasted my time and resources going to the restaurant. And in the end they were too cheap to even give me my incomplete order for the inconvenience for their mistake
We selected Sofra to cater our company holiday party for 40 persons. The order was placed the day before and a delivery time was set. On the day of the party the food arrived exactly as scheduled and turned out to exceed expectations. There were many trays of meats and falafels and every appetizer offered. There was hot sauce and yogurt sauce and enough bread for two days of leftovers.The party guests all wanted to know the location of the restaurant.The price was very reasonable for the quantity that was sent.Thank you Sofra!!
