One of the best ramen I had in NY. interior design, music, service, every dish we tried was amazing
Shuya has become my to go spot for ramen, specially on a cold winter day.Their ramen classic is my favorite, always fresh & lots of flavor. The restaurant is small, cozy with art everywhere.Pork buns always fluffy & delicious, chicken tapas is crunchy, flavorful & paired up with an interesting & yummy miso sauce.Plus good & friendly service every time.
Shuya is one of those places that you get blown away when you first come and they just keep getting better every time. Their menu is always revolving and the seasonal menu is impeccable. It is truly a gold star restaurant!!
I went there today and I was amazed. The pork bun was simple but really good. The texture was amazing between the soft steamed bun and the crispy fatty piece of pork. The Ramen was mind-blowing. I had the black truffle & steak winter special and if it's available it's a must eat. The broth with the truffle flavour together with the amazingly flavourful Steak are astonishing. The ice cream I had was also really good. The service is extremely professional and knows exactly what they do.
Went there on a Saturday later afternoon, not too crowded and sitting is well separate and don't feel any cramped. Order three Ramen - Yuzu, Shuya and Miso. YUZU & Shuya exceed my expectation and Miso was good - like TanTan Mein. Size is not big but enough for most. Very detail taste not just to the soup and noodle, also the vegetable, meat and tamago as well. The last is the Omakase, you must order and try. For $50.00, it is a steal with the quality. Definitely will go back again. It seems that the plates and bowl are handmade.
Even as a delivery order you could tell right away how high quality this ramen is. The Shuya ramen is absolutely perfect from start to finish. Definitely would recommend to anyone. This is food that is made with love and attention to detail.
This place is fantastic. It's very cozy, with a warm atmosphere, despite what the pictures of the location may look like. I felt well accommodated. The FOOD was phenomenal. Seriously, I had no idea it was gonna be as good as it was, but it was almost unreal. Broth was creamy, rich, and deep with accents of full flavors.Everything about the food is what will have me coming back; only reason I'm rating 4 stars is because they don't serve liquor.(apparently it's BYOB, but call to reconfirm. If so, I'll bump this review to five stars, lol.)
Shuya Cafe De Ramen, which is located in Astoria, is one of the candidates of 2018 NY Ramen Contest and we have had it on our bucket list for a while. The decor is humble, simple and bright with cozy ambiance & artsy furniture, which were collaborated with designers & being sold there. Their seating is limited but the wait wasn’t bad even on a Friday night. There were not various options on the menu but pretty decent with daily specials, which would be posted on their Instagram. We had Brussels Sprout Tempura, Garden Salad, Shuya Ramen and Assari Yuzu Shio RamenEverything was delicious and our favorites were the Brussels sprouts which was crispy & flavorful and the Yuzu Ramen which the broth was refreshing & light with plenty of ingredients.
Although this place may seem small, but the chef’s heart is large and full. Few mosquitoes had disturbed my meal, but that couldn’t stop me from finishing up some good food. Yes, it is that good. It has that warm welcome feeling of home-cook where each dishes are selected with care, with a very reasonable price. The foods seasoning is ‘just right’, not too salty or oily as it my be seen. You should note that they do not sell alcoholic beverages, but I still enjoyed each dishes in this place!
This is the first time I got the "stop" hand gesture at a restaurant. The cashier was waiting for a client to sign the check, so I wanted to ask a quick question. He just showed me his palm as a stop sign! Never seen this in Japan or anywhere else in the world.Ordered the omakase, the first sushi collapsed 2 seconds after I picked it up with chopsticks! This is textbook bad job of sushi making. Just wanted to finish quickly and leave the place. Will not come back.
