Probably the most authentic Shanghainese dim sum I’ve had in NY so far, the soup dumpling was really good.
By far the best pan-fried dumplings in NYC. The bottom is fried to a perfect crisp, and each bun contains a full spoon of soup. The taste is authentically Shanghainese: slightly sweet, light, and not overbearing filling. Also got their drunken chicken which was also quite nice. Strongly recommended, even though the buns cost more than $2 a piece.
The food is pretty good, highly recommended their pan fried soup dumplings. The bao crust is crispy but is filled with delicious soup stock and meat.
Food was ok, nothing to rave over about. The food was a bit under season for my taste. The scallions noodles only had a taste of soy sauce. The fried rice was lacking, had to add hot oil. The XLB was good and thin skin but a bit on the pricey side. The panfried soup dumplings were different and good. Service was very tentative and constantly refilling our tea and water.

Very bad customer services. They have three to four table left with empty and don't let us sit at that table(because table is for four people). Ask us to squeeze in the mini little table for two with another group of eight together. They said that later they will have more customer to come, not enough table for others. When other party for two comes, they can sit in the table for four. Maybe I and my friend are not traditional Shanghainese people, I felt be treated different. Whatever the food we order, not enough room to put it. In addition, the server send our food to the other table leave their table for 2-3 minutes then realize it's our order, then bring back to us. I ask the guy, what if they eat it already, are you still gonna bring to us, he reply they didn't eat it. I felt weird to eat stuff already place on other table for long time. We don't know whether they touch the food or not. Ridiculous customer services experience, not only with one dish. Not even busy at the time only three table with customer. Highly not recommend it. Don't ever go again!!
Excellent Shanghai style cuisine. Friendly service. Signature pan-fried pork buns, drunken chicken, and other items were very tasty. Have UberEats, Doordash, and Fantuan delivery.
Omg finally an authentic Shengjian bun place in NYC, actually in all of USA! Everything else is real good and authentic too.
