I am Peruvian and honestly this place does not have the vibe of a Peruvian place.1. During all the meal 3 ppl approached to the table and ask for money2. I have not seeing in any other restaurant in the city that they add 3.99% to pay with card3. They are adding gratuity 22% for parties 5 or more. They do not have any message in the bottom of their menu, by law that is optional and not 22% at least 18%.4. Is Peru Independence Day and they were playing Other kind of musicI will never come back my first and last time. there are other place more authentic and honest.
We were there celebrating 3 girl friends' birthday. The food was delicious but a little pricey and small portions. The life music is good also. We had enjoyable time dancing on the sidewalk....I put 3 stars because the servers are to slow and they get lost very easy. We ordered the drinks and He brought it for us after 45 minutes, even we reminding him several times. Also, we ask for spicy, it came whe we finished the meal....
Had a great time there. Tasty food, great staff, and amazing live music. Truly enjoyed our time.
Peruvian food but make it modern! Rosatoro is your spot to go to for some great Peruvian food and drinks. When we got there they checked out temperature and took down our names and info. We didn't wait long for a seat. The restaurant was beautiful to begin with. The natural lighting and greens hanging down. It was like a fairy fantasy world. The weather was nice too, slight breeze with the warmth of the sun, we got so lucky with the weather. We tried their Aji pulpo with causa limena. It was so good. The aji crusted octopus was so flavorful and meaty. The Peruvian mashed potatoes were to die for too. Don't get me wrong, I love my fries but mashed potatoes' my fav way to eat them. Plus the way they plated everything looked so fine. We also tried their ceviche mixto. I'm typically not a fan of raw white fish, but decided to try it anyway. The texture usually isnt really my thing, but this dish was soo good. I mean the seasoning and that sauce was just delicious. Everything was super fresh too. The sweet potato adds a nice touch to the dish. We also tried their Peruvian style skewers. Usually chicken is super dry but omg. After one bite juice was flowing down my hands!!! It was sooo juicy. I never had white meat with so much juice and flavor before. It's a small dish but trust me. It was delicious. Probably one of the best places to get chicken skewers in the area. This is one of our new fav spots in Astoria.
The food and drinks were great. They had live music and it was good.
I like this Peruvian restaurant a lot. They don’t have a crazy long menu but they have everything you need to try. Choros a la chapa a are my favorite in the menu. Everything is fresh and well seasoned and that’s just what I’m looking for in a meal. Spicy mango margarita is also one of the best drinks in their menu followed by Latin fashioned. Highly recommend
The service is outstanding but the food unfortunately needs to improve. What we were served was NOT a Peruvian ceviche, the calamari and shrimp are supposed to be deep fried and crunchy, coated in something crunchy like flour and then deep fried, not boiled as seen on the picture. The anticuchos also lacked the flavor of Peruvian dressing used to marinate them in.
Delightful piece of Peru in the neighborhood with some other S. American neighbors within strolling distance. Nice liquor selection after you've had a pisco sour, and a menu that doesn't miss. With the regular music at 5, this place is cheaper than a plane ticket to Miami (the only place I've been that's had comparable).
Nice service! It was my first time trying Peruvian food, that's why I asked the staff what they can recommend. So I ordered whatever they suggested. However, the food was way overpriced and I didn't like it at all.
We were a party of 5, I had the Jalea which was delicious. My friends had the lomo saltado & pisco sour. Delicious food, great live band & nice staff.
