Large selection of cuisine of all types as well as fast and courteous service. What’s not to like?
We came here today for dinner. I had the crispy noodle with shredded chicken. It was bland so I put a bunch of hot sauce on it. I also had the bowl of steamed chicken soup. The chicken was really dry and flavourless. I couldn’t eat it. My daughter did not like her crispy noodle with beef. My other daughter liked her dumplings. Unfortunately I would not come back.
You should INSTANTLY order the tripe because it is life changing. Broad noodles are a must and the truffle + pork soup dumplings are mesmerizing. We ate like kings for $60 (3 people)...
Awesome authentic food, great service a must visit restaurant in NYC
Was recommended to this place for the dumplings and it definitely impressed. We shared a few different varieties of their soup dumplings and noodle dishes and all were delicious. Service was efficient and the waiter even assisted in the best procedure to eat the dumplings without a mess when he saw us struggling a bit. The atmosphere is pretty basic, but still comfortable. Prices very reasonable.
What a wonderful place for soup dumplings! We found them tasty and fresh and also enjoyed the shrimp and chicken dumplings. We did not have any wait for a table around 1pm on a weekday afternoon. There were many more menu items I wanted to try. Great seeing dumplings being made right in the restaurant.
This place has been over hyped to the point where it now tastes like fast food. Their recipe changed and the soup dumplings’ peel is much thicker than it used to be. Scallion pancake was bland, six colored soup dumplings did have variations in taste but none of them tasted that special. The soy milk we ordered had clots in there. Not sure if I will be returning in the future, there are definitely better soup dumpling places around that does not require an hour long wait.
TL;DRTastes good, specialty dumplings had some structural problems, the place is very packed and takes a long time to be seated. If you like xiaolong bao (小笼包), this place is pretty decent. The wrapper is quite thin and the filling has that characteristic soup inside the soup dumplings with a flavorful pork, in addition to the other variants added in there. However, this place is packed. When you get there, scan the QR code right away to be put on the waiting list. There were 25 groups of guests ahead of me with a 5 minute wait according to the app. The wait was closer to an hour. I highly suggest doing some shopping or something nearby while waiting. The specialty colored soup dumplings also had some structural integrity issues. Many of them came with holes or were easy to puncture. Since this is the case, the soup just pours out and you lose the point of having a soup dumpling. The regular soup dumplings didn't have this issue, just the specialty ones.Otherwise, the place is clean and very decorated to an old Chinese athletic with a very large seating area on the second floor.
We loved the truffle-pork soup dumplings and the pork-crab fried dumplings… the chicken soup dumplings were okay but you really need to add soysauce and vinegar to them bc the flavor isnt as good as the pork soup dumplings. Service was so fast and prompt, we will definitely come back!
I’ve been to their old spot before they moved and have been dying to come back to eat at there new location. Service was fast as some of my dishes came out within 5 minutes. As for the food, it’s a hit or miss depending on what you order. The salty rice roll was mediocre. Almost tasted bland. Didn’t even get to eat the other half. I liked the pork and vegetable wontons with the chili oil. The pan fried noodles with chicken, well, didn’t know where the chicken was hidden, more cabbage than anything, and the pan fried noodles were soggy within minutes of eating it once it arrived. The soup dumplings - ordered the original and crab meat, was good. I mean, it’s juicy and goes with vinegar and ginger. Still tastes the same for me as it did before they moved so that’s good. I would revisit, but not after trying other places around the area first.
