This is mostly an AYCE hotpot place with sushi and a small variety of dishes to choose from the hot bar. I thought the dishes were decent for a buffet and had some good choices (e.g. deep-fried soft shell crab, sautéed crab on sauce, LA Kalbi, etc). Their sushi selection was also big on variety, but I think the rolls were lacking a little in both taste and execution. Several of my rolls fell apart and everything fell out to the point where I had to eat each filling separately. I also felt like several of them tasted similar without much distinction in palates between them. For the hotpot, I liked how there was a good selection of toppings to bring back to your table ranging from veggies, to seafood, to meats, to noodles, to fish balls, etc. One thing I wasn't too fond of was their sauces. They have a lot of unique housemade sauces, but I have my own particular hotpot sauce recipe and they were missing in some of those base sauces that I was looking for.Still, overall it's good experience, especially if you can manage the long wait time, which could last anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour.
All you can eat lunch for $27 and it includes meats!! This place is amazing and has all the essential hot pot food items and sauces. They also have a cooked food bar which has delicious items too if you have the room for it! The only thing I wish was better was the ice cream machine. It’s not actually ice cream but rather yogurt and it was a little sour which we all thought was a bit off but was assured it was normal
You don't need to read my review to know it's one of the best buffets on Long Island. Mizumi has a buffet section, very large sushi section and a nice assortment of items for the at table hot pots. They somehow manage to do a really good job at all three while keeping it stocked, clean and not crowded. We came for the great sushi but found out about the hotpot (which both could individually warrant the price). We went on a weeknight and had a short wait but nothing too bad. It was $35 per person and while high, is well worth the money (especially since nearby buffet's charge $20+ for 1/10 of what this place offers). Well worth the drive and money.
Great hot pot and sushi buffet. The sauce bar here is excellent, with hard-to-find ingredients like the fermented tofu sauce, the leek flower sauce, and seasoned ponyu soy sauce. The garnishes are great, with chopped cilantro, scallions, ginger, and more. There's so many kinds of foods to cook in the hot pot that it's hard to save room for sushi and the hot dishes.
food/service good..reasonable price
Great food. Great service. Incredible value. Only downside was dessert, could use some improvement.
Love this place. Wide range of food to choose from depending on what you are craving. Sushi Bar is always my favorite. Their brisket is one of a kind. Friendly and attentive staff.
I visit New York often and Mizumi never fails to impress me with the finest quality of a la carte cuisine. You can DIY your own broth soup by selecting ingredients of your choice and cook it at your table. The sushi choices are fantastic and clearly labelled - the taste is extremely fresh and flavoursome. There is also a great range of hot dishes including Sea Bass, Fillet Steak and Soft Shell Crab. The servers were very efficient and polite and demonstrated to us how to cook our broth. I'd highly recommend Mizumi for an enjoyable evening.
When this place first opened, we could go weekly and be very happy. The food was so fresh and the variety of sushi, sashimi, soups, salads and cooked food was outstanding. Post-Covid, Mizumi has changed it up completely. It now has very limited sushi items on the buffet, focusing on Hot Pot items. These are excellent meats, vegs, shrimp and other add-ins, very tasty. The cost of lunch also increased from $20 to $27 per person and no senior discount. I recommend it but it’s just not as special as it once was.
Ignore all the haters!!For $35 this is an amazing deal for everything they offer. It has all kinds of sliced meats for hotpot (including wagyu beef included), fish balls, mushrooms, veggies, sushi, cooked foods, noodles! They even have a big station dedicated to making your own custom sauces.Service was great, the meal was satisfying. I would definitely come back.
