Dim Sum Shanghainese

The other day my wife and I went to Memories of Shanghai and ordered quite a lot of food. Forget about their prices going way up ($2.49/shrimp dumpling), but midway through our meal, the cook came out from the back, maskless, and began coughing into his hand..then the cashier sneezed ..the coughing continued when he went back to the kitchen! We looked at each other with disgust and disappointment, vowing to never return here again.

Unique dim sum experience. A little bit pricier than the flushing classics but really great quality for the forest hills area and worth it for the convenience. The flavors were a bit different as well but a good variation on the normal.

Everything we ordered was good. The pork soup dumplings was good but lack the traditional rich soup flavor. Don't get me wrong, still very tasty food. I will come back again.

I'm not one to leave reviews, but the dumplings I get here are some of the best I've ever had. Their red bean puffs aren't like the usual red bean buns with a soft outer dough layer, but rather a thin crispy croissant-like outer shell They're the tastiest I've had so far, and always warm. Veggie dumplings are easy to screw up (many places don't bother seasoning the vegetables), but both the vegetable potstickers and the bok choy/mushroom buns are amaaaaaazing.

Food here is good, service is poor. We asked for extra napkins the guy gave us one… so obviously we had to ask again and we were yelled at and asked why… like really it’s a napkin, how sad this place is. Also asked for more tea and was given hot water with the same tea bag. Also tea pot looked like it was never washed, and they never even brought us glasses of water. It’s sad that the service is so poor because the food is actually good, but because of how rude the staff is I will not be back.

Delicious. Try the scallion pancake w. beef. Can't go wrong with soup dumplings.

I’ve heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to give it a try. I ordered in advance on their website for takeout and the hand off was smooth. Also, food was warm and fresh. I enjoyed all 3 dishes I ordered, the meat tastes slightly salty for me but very legit Shanghainese dim sum. Will come back for their other menus next time.

I was really excited to try Memories of Shanghai but unfortunately they served me raw shrimp dumplings. I understand mistakes happen but considering the seriousness of this they were not very apologetic nor did they seem to care very much about this mistake. And yes, we still had to pay for the bill.Again, mistakes happen but this should have been handled differently to show that they care about their customers and food safety. I would not recommend this place considering they don’t mind potentially giving customers food poisoning.

We went here for soup dumplings and were not disappointed. They were so delicious! We got regular and crab flavor. The place was clean and service was efficient.

far from authenticate Chinese food, mainly just fry and done (real Chinese food is far more than just frying). poor service as well. will never be there again.
