10/10! A fast, healthy alternative to eating on-the-go. Their service is excellent as well. The owner is passionate about food, and it shows in her dishes. Worth the trip to find their locations!
Consistently delicious no matter what I've ordered. Spicy, warm, and full of flavor.
I love etheopian food and have eaten at a few restaurants in nyc, brooklyn and even in DC. This is worst etheopian food I've ever had. The injera didn't taste good. I had the lentils( misir wat) and greenbeans (fasolia). I took a taste of each and I had to throw the rest away. I also ordered the beef sambusa at $5 each. They were so small, they both fit in the palm of my hand. So not worth the price. Those who rated this place above 1 star, don't know good food. Try Ghenet, Queen of Sheba, bunna cafe, to name a few. Great Etheopian cusine, different styles yet so authentic. Very disappointed with this place. Won't go back.
The food it’s delicious however pricy for a take out.
I grew up in near D.C. which is known for its Ethiopian food and I have to say this is some of the best I've had. Everything I've tried is beautifully seasoned -- the ginger and turmeric really sing. Hits the spot if you're looking for healthy comfort food.
I love What u have done here and it's so amazing to see this in New York. it is delicious i miss eritrean food .thanks for bring it here።
Delicious. Traveled from Eastern Queens for this. I miss their truck stopping on Broadway and 56th.
Fake Habesha FoodLast week I visited New york and wanted habesha food. When I google I see plenty of sites. I picked the MAKINA because I saw the owner interview on Facebook before 2 years and I saw many star reviews I picked herThis is the most disgusting location, with bad customer service, overcrowding lowe pay workers and fake food selling spotWhen I arrived there even though I was in the location I couldn't recognized the spot it looks like some truck alley dot and asked the people don't respond because too much busy with little pay finally someone answers and got my orderI was devastated!!! They gave me two dishes, one tibis and one shiro and lentils with extra unreal injera and some junk veggies .I couldn't eat the food but trashed it into garbage. This food is fake. The shiro tests some kind of chemical which is not the real shiro I know and grows up my entire life. The lentils the same thing and tibis unreal the injera was like the worstThe woman(owner) cheated the habesha people by naming habesha food. How can the habesha food Made by different people? I am Eritrean and I know Eritrean and Ethiopian food but this one doesn't represent habesha food. It doesn't have an Eritrean Ethiopian test.
Good food does not excuse the lack of good service. It is not the fault of the employees/staff/cooks, but the fault of the owners who exploit them. You shouldn’t be running a business if you can’t afford to pay your employees a decent wage. Today I saw overworked staff and I really felt bad. The despair of their faces said it all. I’m pretty sure these ppl are under the books with an under minimum wage salary. First and last time I will eat here.
Ordered from here for the first time and the food is incredible. They have an awesome menu selection and the prices are very reasonable.
