The food was very delicious. I really enjoy it. I went back for the second time. Extremely over priced now. I won’t be going back here again.
I came here with high expectations as the place is quite famous for Afghan food. We ordered one of the family combos. The food simply wasn't up to par with some other restaurants although it was cheaper. They put very little carrots and raisins, the rice was kinda stale and reheated. Same for the kebabs they just didn't taste fresh.Might give another chance someday.
The food was just ok to me, I have had much better Afghani food at other places but if you are in the area give them a try for yourself maybe I'm comparing them to other restaurants too harshly.
Food is generally good. The smell when entering the restaurant however is putrid. Thank god it was take out. You wouldnt be able to eat there.
Note: I have only ever ordered from them on Ubereats. In the past couple months, I have ordered around 10 times from this place. Every time I have ordered, they have nailed it. The rice, chicken, lamb, beef, bread, and even the salad have been great. Although it can be pricey at times (mostly just fees from Ubereats), it's still worth it every time.
Firstly, I came with a party of people, and they always seem to mess up the order. They don't bring enough spoons and utensils, they don't bring enough salads, or they even forget entire dishes and people's food. I don't get why they always forget it, they write it down on paper and still somehow always mess up. I even spoke with the owner a few times and asked them not to forget items, but they still mess up.Secondly, once I went to the front desk for something, and I heard an employee enter the bathroom and not wash their hands. The bathroom is right next to the front desk and has a thin door. The worker came out without washing his hands. I heard the toilet flush but no water from the sink, and his hands were completely dry when he left. When I went into the bathroom after the employee, I saw the bathroom was completely out of towel paper. And the employee continued to serve food after. I couldn't bear eating any food after that as it disgusted me a lot. The employee was a young bearded man, possibly the owners son. Maybe the restaurant doesn't have a policy of workers washing their hands after using the bathroom, as I couldn't see any signs instructing employees that they have to wash their hands.Thirdly, the prices on the menus are incorrect. They charge you a different price from what's on the menus, and when I brought this up with the owner, he just said the prices were different and the menus were out of date. Thats an extremely deceptive practice. Why couldn't they update the menus with the correct prices instead of charging extra after the meal, without saying anything until I brought it up?The last time I went to Bakhtar was a few months ago, so I pray that they've changed since then, but I've been going there a long time without seeing any change. I haven't got around to leaving a review until now, but I feel this information is important for others to know. The food is very tasty, but these major issues stop me from leaving a good review. Until these things change, I don't plan on ever going back to Bakhtar.
Taste food.We had lot fun.
Ordered every kebab, get the kofta it's something special, blows the rest out of the water. Really good kebabs!
Food was Delicious... Specially Chicken Kofta was fresh & Juicy. Definitely going back soon for Dine In. ?
Ordered 4 skewers and they said it would take 15 mins and took 45 mins. Charged $17 and got home and it was maybe $6 worth of meat although the quality was fine. I get there’s supply chain issues and inflation right now but you don’t have to rip us off, we’re feeling the pinch too.
