Understaffed. Food is good and decent portion but very oily.Seems to be two waiters at all times despite Friday evening being very packed. They didn't even bother cutting fruits at the end of the meal (customary), until we asked.Don't plan on coming back. Shame the customer service ruined the experience.
Service was good. Food wasn't. Food was pricey. We had chicken shrimp fried rice , the chicken was chicken fat which we put aside ..the rice was ok . We also had a portion of vege in garlic sauce which was bland ...lastly we had crispy chicken in garlic sauce ..was ok. And a can of Sprite . The bill was 54$..omg .. overpriced and the food was blah.We were seated near cases of water and supplies like we were eating in a warehouse. Staff was attentive and quick.Still the food and ambiance was disappointing. You learn every day.
First time in this place and would be the last. Lady don't know how to do customer service, has an attitude for no reason and takes orders with an ear pop making the customer repeat everything because she is on the phone.
The chef was squatting outside smoking and playing with his phone when I arrive at the restaurant. Then he came in and proceed to walk into the "kitchen" section at the front of the store. A customer asked him, "were you on a smoking break?". He said "yes". Customer then asked, "aren't you going to wash your hands?" And he said, "no, no need to wash hands. I'll just wear glove" but only put on ONE glove... Wow, great hygiene practice! I immediately walked out and hope you will too because that's pretty disgusting imo.
Picked up a roast pork over rice on my way home tonight from this restaurant and boy was I disappointed. The roast pork was dry, lacked flavor and the rice tasted like it was leftover from night before.I would have given a one star if not for the preserved egg congee which was decent. TBH Don’t think I will be back because in the flushing area there are so many places to get much better roast pork or Cantonese food for that matter.
Mediocre Cantonese food with a small portion.
Very dishonest people. One time my husband brought 2 boxes of roast pork belly and he paid $100, in fact he should only paid $45. I later told my husband he was deceived. We then opened the box and realized half of the roast pork belly were fat and we couldn't eat. Those were unwanted portion and left over meat from other customers. However, we didn't end up going back to the store to argue with the manager because my baby was crying that day. But I will never go back to this store again.
I love salt and pepper pork chop and I have tried this dish at just about all Chinese restaurants in flushing. Today while driving by, I decided to try thisbplace.Ordered salt and pepper pork chop for take out with white rice. The porkchop was severely overcooked and dry! Also the oil used to cook was not fresh frying oil. There is a strong bad scent from using the overused frying oil on the pork chop.Pork chops are very dark in color, hard and stiff and burnt !! Super hard to chew and swallow.. Found out when at home. Too late and too far drive back. With quality like this, I doubt I will go back again and try other dishes.I threw out just about the entire take out box of salt n pepper pork chop.I must say going to heart of Flushing (main st area ) is much better. I guess the competitions at main st raises the quality of all restaurants there . With this restaurant so far away from downtown flushing, I feel they don't hold the same high standard in their cooking and ingredients. They not worry about competitions, thus the substandard food I received today.Very disappointed.
Really nice people, I used to eat here often. Went back last night and the quality has dropped significantly. The first thing I noticed upon taking a bite was that the food was not fresh... definitely leftovers from a previous day. I also noticed there was a significant quantity of meat hanging by the window in the evening which was probably going to go out as leftovers on the next day. My advice would be to only prepare enough for the day's servings so customers do not get leftovers (dry meat, etc)
The food is delicious. The cash is very nice. We usually go there to get congee. So convenient right off 495.
