I ordered an Ube Cake for my grandma’s birthday and the online ordering was easy and seamless, pickup at the store was quick and the cake was loved by everyone at the party. Many people were even inquiring about where it was from because they said it was “better than Red Ribbon.” I highly agree! It was fresh, tasted homemade, looked beautifully decorated and they even wrote the happy birthday message on the top for my grandma :)Will happily order from them again for future events!
Been looking around Queens for the best Ube cake. This place comes a close first in my book with a beautifully crafted purple cake with lots of cream filling and a firm cake base. Also had their ube cheese pandesal which was very soft and fresh. Will go back and try other baked goods.
First time to try this place. The coffee is good but the bibingka does not taste anything. It’s like eating plain flour mixed with glutinous rice. I can’t even eat half of the bibingka. I hope this is not always the case as this place is really nice.
DO NOT ORDER their rice meal. Too little of a serving for the price. I feel cheated.
Hands down, one of the best. The best chocolate almond cake. I ordered twice in a row, for no reason. I just like it.
Amazing bakery. You won't be disappointed!
My Dad was turning 90 in July and I wanted his birthday cake to be special so I searched online for an ube cake and called up Cathy at Kape't Torta. She was so pleasant and easy to work with. She suggested a half sheet of ube cake with buttercream frosting and she would even deliver it to the banquet hall for free! Everything went smoothly that day and the cake was a huge hit. All the guests loved the flavor and texture and I passed on the info to a number of them on where it came from. Thank you SO much, Cathy, for helping to make my Dad's big birthday a memorable one. I will definitely be visiting the bakery in person sometime soon to stock up on some Filipino goodies for myself!
We visited Kape’t Torta randomly when we were waiting for our to-go order from Awang Kitchen. The decor looks simple and humble but we were attracted by their Ube dessert, since I am a super fan of Ube.The owner is super friendly and welcoming to recommend us their must-try items for our first visit. We had their Ube Cake with Flan and Garlic Bread with Cream Cheese. The food was so good, especially the Garlic Bread, it was delicious and perfectly balanced between savoriness from garlic and sweetness from cream cheese. The Ube Cake was also tasty and creamy with soft texture.
I gave 3 just because of the food I got but the prices were cheap. Both items were recommended by the staff. But they are just not my style. The bread pudding is more like a solid, baked ube-flour mixture in the middle and two layers of dried bread outside… the coconut bread tasted ok but the shredded coconut inside was just so hard to swallow. Couldn’t even finish it.
It was a good experienced and great job to teammates, and also thank you for the good hospitality always.
