Cute little spot for korean food. Loved this place, as not only they served scrumptious food they also provided great service (Sophie is a legend, funny, honest, and sweet!). They even added the glass noodles in to the Teriyaki chicken for my dish. Props to the chef. My friend ordered spicy pork and that was also a big win.Only thing to note for outdoor eating, the three blind mice might have been living under the floor in the outdoor seating (ahh NYC life, but don't worry we didn't see them, just heard them. I've noticed this happening in a lot of outdoor eating areas lately in NYC). Inside the restaurant is perfectly fine, nice bathroom, really clean. Overall a wonderful place for some good EATZ. Would definitely come back!
Korean classics served here. Great staff, food came out fast and was tasty. Multiple small sides and K-pop playing in the background. I'm very visual, so photos on menu were great! Tofu stew was amazing, delicate and had wood ear mushrooms. Ramen was cooked perfectly. I will definitely visit again.
After dining here, I’ll pass everything that Korean Town in Manhattan has to offer. The tiny cozy place, attentive waiters, and reasonable portions. It just feels right. It feels like you’re in Asian. It feels like walking in the neon signs illuminated alley after work in Taipei.
I had a fantastic meal. KAL has a small indoor and an outdoor dining area. It's cozy though I'm sure it can feel a little cramped when it's really busy (though I've yet to be there at those times). The staff was attentive and personable - food was really good! The portions and taste definitely justified the price. Will keep returning to try many things from the menu!
This place is not what it used to be. It used to taste really good like mom’s home cooking but now everything I get is just super salty, masking how bad the food actually is. Tired of them skimping out in quality ingredients and constantly getting rice that taste old.
Service is great! Drinks came fast and waitress Sophia was quick to accommodate, even if you’re on a time schedule during lunch break. The tteokbokki is my personal fave, ratio of sweetness to spicy is perfect and the soup isn’t too watery, rice cakes are thick and the whole dish is full of flavor! I recommend it with cheese. My boyfriend got the beef stew and complained that most restaurants make the stew too sickly sweet, but the one here was just right for him, reasonable prices for the quality and amount of food you get. Wish I could visit more often if I didn’t live so far :((
Great Korean food in the heart of Astoria. Prices very reasonable and portions are pretty big. Seating area is small but I didn’t have a wait. Lots of traditional dishes like galbi (short ribs), seafood or kimchi pancakes, beef stew, Lorena fried chicken (just a few recommendations)
The place is cozy and the food is fantastic! Incredible selection of meat and vegan dishes.
Went to dinner first time today. I was drawn into the space , as it is long and has bright decor on the inside. I was surprised at how great the portions were. I definitely left full! The menu was perfect and not too long so they perfect their options. The variety was good! The rice and the sides were perfect. Kimchi was one of the best I ever had. The sweet and spicy fried chicken are a MUST try. The service staff was so adorable and attentive. Got a good home vibe
Inviting staff and tasty food, very much enjoyed my time here.
