Hello everyone on Friday I had Jamrock from Wall Street. The young people were very professional. Let me start out for people to understand that this food is priced at $16.57 I'm going to say that it's overpriced because of overhead and they are outside. Please note they give you as much food as you would get in a small at an authentic Caribbean restaurant so don't let the box fool you. Even though this food is cooked out of a truck the food is authentic. I noticed how they didn't chop up all the chicken and I had one piece of chicken that was so burnt that it was unedible. The rice was fresh it taste good the chicken was maybe an eight out of a 10. But I will say that I was there last order of the day between 3:00 and 3:30 so that probably was the reason. I love how they throw in packs of pepper to fix your taste and they give salad dressing separately which is wonderful. I will give this another try even though I think that the price is excessive, this was not an epic fail. I will just go early the next time.
This is my second time having Jamrock Jerk and it was nothing but amazing. I got the Jerk Chicken meal which comes with Rice and Peas (beans), garden salad and 2 pieces of sweet fried plantain which is a total of $16.75. The jerk chicken is the star of the show of course, it’s super flavorful and tender ?. Also adding to my 5 star review is the very friendly hardworking staff! Keep up the good work , I’ll surely be back.
Excellent, friendly service -- I was expecting a very long wait because there was a line, but they have wonderful, smiling staff (I could not believe it!) who come and take your order while you are in line. Someone there knows what they are doing in terms of customer service training! That adds to the entire experience, and the food of course, oxtail plate, was so delicious and almost falling off the bone. Will definitely be back.
Really great Caribbean BBQ, BBQ at it‘s best!
Best jerk chicken I’ve had in a minute. I ordered when they were selling in both Austin street and more recently in Jamaica. Both times were fire. The spice level and tenderness is great. The portions are very generous so if you’re not starving or anything I feel like you could share. Mac and cheese wasn’t as great as I hoped but everything else made up for it. Will be eating from there again whenever they’re around.
Happy to see a black owned food truck in Forest Hills but unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.Pros: Line moved quickly and servers were very courteous and friendly which is rare for black owned food establishments and portion size was good for $15 but Cons:Should have 2 size meals small and large because $15 is a bit much if you want to try food for the first time. I was skeptical but decided against my better judgment.Jerk chicken was black and dry tasted like straight Walkerwoods jerk seasoning in the jar not authentic at all and no smoky flavor.Rice no flavor and lukewarm at best.Salad was limp due to being placed on top.Best thing was the plantains.I’m sorry but I’ll have to stick to the hood for authentic Jamaican food won’t be back.In response to the owner money for me is definitely not a problem but nasty food is! This is my opinion so put your big boy pants on and take criticism with a smile.
Delicious, flavorful food! To top it off, the portion sizes are generous. (Easily two meals in a single serving) We got the pork & chicken & both were on point. ??
No lie I am so happy this place is in Astoria. This area has been lacking a hood Jamaican spot. Working and living in the Bronx for a while spoiled me with good Jamaican food so I kno a good jerk when i try it. This place is top tier , I will recommend ya to everyone I kno & I hope you guys succeed as a business because I taste the love you put in your food . 5/5
Delicious food, great portions and packets of scotch bonnet pepper. It's flavor and heat with nothing but deliciousness. The lemonade is good too.
Jamrock Jerk is a mobile caterer that I found located on the corner of Austin Street and 71st Avenue, Forest Hills, NY. They are NYC’s first legally permitted mobile food cart equipped with smokers and grills producing delicious and authentic Jamaican jerk. Their food is so delicious that the wait was an endless long, long line in the scorching sun waiting to be served. One from our group arriben late and got their share of waiting while we got some dessert.
